Miami Beach recently unveiled the 19.4-acre Bayshore Park near the Scott Rakow Youth Center. If you and your family haven’t yet strolled along the serpentine boardwalk to admire the park’s massive Ficus tree up close, you’re in for a treat. Bayshore Park features a signature lake, six lighted tennis courts, a children’s playground, linear water feature, outdoor earthen amphitheater, dog park plus weatherproof fitness equipment and a butterfly garden as you’ll discover in “Newest Jewel in City’s Crown” on page 22. MB also takes you inside Miami City Ballet to welcome Gonzalo Garcia to Miami Beach as only the third artistic director in the company's storied 40-year history. Gonzalo brings 25 years of experience as a principal dancer with the New York City Ballet and San Francisco Ballet. Be sure to read MB’s exclusive interview with Gonzalo in “Dancing en Pointe” on page 8. You’ll find Miami Beach election information on page 44.
