WRITER IN RESIDENCE Improve your writing with our Writer in Residence. From October through December, author Marc Mason will offer one-on-one consultations and workshops at the Red Mountain Library to support both aspiring and established authors. This program is supported by the Arizona State Library, a division of the Secretary of State, with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. EXPLORING THE MEMOIR Wed | Oct 8 | 6:30pm – 7:30pm | RM Get your family story (or stories) to the page so that generations can immerse themselves in history. Whether you’re telling your own story, the story of a beloved relative, or someone else you care about, this is the session for you! Be ready to take a deep dive below the surface and bring your personal history into the light.

Coming Soon: Gateway Library The Gateway Library in southeast Mesa will be located at 5036 S. Eastmark Parkway. It will have a modern feel and will provide similar amenities to the Main, Red Mountain, and Dobson Ranch libraries. The Gateway Library is scheduled to open in fall 2025. This project is funded by the 2018 Bond Election for Arts and Culture. Stay tuned to our website and social media channels for the latest updates.

The winning team will get fun library swag! Teams may consist of no more than six contestants. This session is designed for kids aged 7-15 and their families.

CHALLENGING TRIVIA Thurs | Oct 9 | 3:30pm – 4:30pm | RM The same as above, but with harder questions! The winning team will get fun library swag! Teams may consist of no more than six contestants. This session is open to all ages but contains more challenging trivia questions than the Family Trivia session.

INTERMEDIATE / ADVANCED EXCEL † Wed | Oct 8 | 10:00am – 12:00pm | DR Learn how to sort, filter, freeze panes, conduct basic math, and create charts. Then learn advanced Excel topics like pivot tables, how to use multiple spreadsheets, absolute references, vlookup, and other techniques. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required.

READ RUNNER Our bookmobile, the Read Runner, is now making regular stops! This mobile library is designed to bring books and resources directly to the community. DONATE DAY: BOOK DONATION DRIVE Sat | Oct 18 | 9:00am – 12:00pm | RM Donate books, magazines, movies, and music without leaving your car! Volunteers will be on hand to unload your donation. One hundred percent of our used book sales proceeds stay with the library to support programs and services.
