DO MORE GOOD Volunteers are needed in our libraries as well as Mesa's arts center, museums, neighborhoods, parks, police and fire departments, and many other areas. Learn more at: mesaaz.gov/volunteer Join the City of Mesa and the Mesa-East Valley MLK Committee to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr./Civil Rights Day on Monday, January 16. The festivities will begin at 11am with a parade and will continue with a festival from 12-4pm.

3D PRINTER TRAINING ⚙ ☑ Sat | Jan 7 | 1:30pm – 4:00pm | RM Learn the basics of using our Ultimaker 3D printers. Once you complete training and sign a waiver, you can start reserving our 3D printers for personal use during THINKspot business hours.

THINKSPOT EQUIPMENT Q&A⚙ Wed | Jan 25 | 6:00pm – 8:00pm | MN If you have questions about the equipment in THINKspot, we have answers. We’ll help you turn that idea you have into a plan of action! This is a drop-in program, no appointment is necessary.

COMPUTER BASICS † Wednesdays | 2:00pm – 3:30pm | MN If you are new to the computer or just want to know more about how it works then Computer Basics is the place to start! Laptops and mice are provided to the first 11 participants; you are welcome to bring your own device. Jan 4 & 11 – Microsoft Word Jan 18 & 25 – Microsoft PowerPoint HOTSPOT DIGITAL HELP DESK Thursdays | 2:00pm – 3:00pm | RM Sat | Jan 7, 21 | 3:00pm – 4:00pm | MN Curious about downloading ebooks, movies, music, magazines, and more from the library with your laptop, mobile device, or ereader? Drop in during these sessions for one-on-one assistance on a first-come, first-served basis.

INTRODUCTION TO MICROSOFT EXCEL ☑†

Mon | Jan 9 | 10:00am – 12:00pm | DR Learn the foundations of Microsoft Excel, including how to create, edit, and format data in a spreadsheet. INTERMEDIATE / ADVANCED EXCEL ☑ † Mon | Jan 23 | 10:00am – 12:00pm | DR Learn how to sort, filter, freeze panes, conduct basic math, and create charts. Then learn advanced Excel topics like pivot tables, how to use multiple spreadsheets, absolute references, vlookup, and other techniques. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required. PAPER MINI-QUILT WITH THE CAMEO⚙☑ Wed | Jan 25 | 1:30pm – 4:00pm | RM Learn how to use our Cameo Paper/ Vinyl Cutter and its free Silhouette Studio Software. We’ll cut out designs in paper squares to form a paper mini-quilt. Once you complete this workshop, take a quick online quiz, and sign a waiver, you can start reserving our Cameo for personal use during THINKspot business hours.

USING LIBRARY APPS TO DOWNLOAD EBOOKS Tues | Jan 10 | 2:00pm – 3:00pm | DR Learn how to use the Libby and cloudLibrary apps to download ebooks and audiobooks from the Library to your smartphone or tablet. Please bring your library card/PIN, device, and email address. If you are using a Kindle, please bring your Amazon account information.

EXPLORE NEW HOBBIES Through the Great Courses, Universal Class, and the Hobbies & Crafts Reference Center you can learn to paint, draw, sing, sew, play chess, and much more!

Sat | Jan 14 | 9:00am – 12:00pm | RM Donate books, magazines, movies, and music without even leaving your car! Volunteers will be on hand at the Red Mountain Library to unload your donation. Can’t make it? Visit mesalibrary.org/donate to learn more about donations. One hundred percent of the proceeds from our used book sales stay with the library to support programs and services.

Or bring your donation to the Main Library during business hours (if you have more than 5 boxes of books, call ahead for an appointment to drop items off). Learn the KonMari orginization method at the Red Mountain Library Saturday, Jan 14, 3:30-4:30pm.
