The Community Safety Plan is a long-term approach to addressing issues relating to safety in Kelowna. With a focus on reducing risk, vulnerability, and harm, the CSP engages local stakeholders and organizations to generate a shared vision and to collectively commit to actions to improve community safety and sense of safety. The 5 main priorities of the plan are:
• Crime prevention, intervention and sense of safety
• Domestic violence + intimate partner violence
• Housing + homelessness
• Mental health + problematic substance use (including alcohol)
• Racism + discrimination
All priorities include recommendations and actions that will work toward a community where all people are safe and feel safe.
