PROJECT OVERVIEW
▪ Drains 3+ square miles – 15%+ of the City south of SH-183
▪ Runs for 3+ miles – from Wyche Park to outfall south of Oakdale Road
▪ Constructed in the 1960s
▪ Inadequate to meet current standards for conveyance of 100-year flood events
Channel Near Capacity at Bowman Street
▪ Recent home flooding
▪ Piecemeal improvements over time
▪ Urgent improvements underway:
▪ Wyche Park Detention
▪ Currently designing capacity increase. Complete May 2021.
▪ Hogbottoms Outfall Debris Collector
▪ Currently in construction. Complete July 2021.
▪ MDU program provides opportunity for a long term fix
▪ City reinvesting in the MDU
▪ Issuing bonds backed by fee increase
