City’s Proposed Budget Maintains Current Tax Rate Irving City Council is scheduled to adopt the Fiscal Year 2025-26 (FY26) proposed budget on Sept. 18. The final public hearing on the budget and tax rate is Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. at Irving City Hall, 825 W. Irving Blvd. The hearing provides residents with the opportunity to share input on the proposed budget before final adoption. The FY26 proposed budget maintains the current tax rate of $0.5891/$100 taxable value while funding key city operations and maintenance projects. Like all City of Irving budget cycles, the budget is structurally balanced and continues to fund the exceptional services and programs Irving residents enjoy today.

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT CELEBRATION OCT. 7
Honoring Irving Fire Department’s 100th Anniversary
Neighborhoods across Irving will light up the city with unity and community spirit on Tuesday, Oct. 7, during National Night Out. The city invites all neighborhoods to participate in the nationwide event to strengthen police-community alliances and take a stand against crime. Residents can host a block party, get to know their neighbors and be part of the effort to give crime a proper send-off. As part of the celebration, everyone is encouraged to turn on their porch lights and gather outside to show solidarity. The Irving Police Department is accepting requests for officers or department representatives to stop by National Night Out events. Registration is free.
September is National Firefighter Appreciation Month, making it the perfect time to honor the Irving Fire Department (IFD), an institution that has proudly served the community for 100 years. The department is celebrating its centennial (1925–2025) with a special event.
Saturday, Sept. 20 | 4 to 9 p.m. Toyota Music Factory | 316 W. Las Colinas Blvd. Attendees can enjoy barbecue, live music and a chance to celebrate the legacy of the IFD. All proceeds will benefit Grey Matters, which supports brain cancer research.
