There will be no residential trash, curbside recycling or brush/bulky collection Friday, July 4 in observance of the Independence Day holiday. Tuesday/Friday residential trash collection will resume on Tuesday, July 8. Friday recycling and brush/bulky collections will resume on Friday, July 11. The following city facilities will be closed on July 4:  City Hall  Criminal Justice Center  Heritage Aquatic Center  Hunter Ferrell Landfill  Irving Animal Care Campus  Irving Archives and Museum  Irving Arts Center  Irving public libraries  North Lake Natatorium  Recreation centers

New Mustang Recreation + Aquatics Facility Breaks Ground Construction of the new Mustang Multi-Generational Community Center and Indoor Aquatics facility begins in July! Located on the same property as the existing Mustang Recreation Center, the new building will face LBJ Freeway (I-635) with access off I-635, Kinwest Pkwy. and Regent Blvd. The state-of-the-art building is the largest recreational facility investment in the city’s history. Facility Features  Aquatics Center + Locker Rooms  Indoor Playground + Party Rooms  Gymnasium + Indoor Walking/Jogging Track  Fitness Center + Exercise Rooms  Game Pit + Virtual 360 Golf Simulator  Multi-Purpose Rooms + Outdoor Turf Area  Dedicated Active Senior Adult Center

Irving Elects New City Council Members Irving residents re-elected Council Member John Bloch to single-member district Place 1, new council elect Adam Muller to single-member district Place 7 and new council elect David Pfaff to at-large district Place 2. Irving operates under a council-manager form of government where council sets city policy and the city manager is responsible for organizational operations. Residents elect a mayor and eight council members to serve the city. All council members are elected for three-year terms. Council meetings are held at least once a month on Thursdays, beginning at 7 p.m. Meeting dates are posted online at IrvingTX.gov/Agendas. Residents have the option to watch meetings live in HD on YouTube, in addition to ICTN.tv and the ICTN Meetings cable channels (Spectrum Channel 95 and Frontier Channel 31).
