FREE MULCH IN APRIL Mulch is available free of charge to Irving residents throughout April. Pickup is offered on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon, at the Hunter Ferrell Landfill. The landfill is located at 110 E. Hunter Ferrell Road. Proof of Irving residence is required; bring a driver’s license or state ID card and utility bill with a matching address. Guide to Common Code Violations and How to Avoid Them Irving Code Enforcement strives to partner with residents to help maintain a safe, healthy and clean city. Education about code standards and processes is a focus of the department’s efforts to assist residents in proactively maintaining their properties. Most Commonly Found Violations by Code Enforcement 1. Grass or weeds over 10 inches tall 2. Vehicles or trailers parked on unpaved surfaces 3. Accumulations of trash 4. Tree limbs or bushes blocking sidewalks 5. Vehicles that do not run stored or parked in driveways When a violation is observed, a code enforcement officer issues a Notice of Violation (NOV) that provides information on the nature of the violation, the required remedy and the deadline for correction. When an NOV is received, it is important for residents to communicate with the issuing officer. Officers have the ability to work with residents on compliance plans and are available to provide more information about the concern and possible solutions. The goal of Code Enforcement is resolution and compliance, not enforcement and citations. If violations

However, this is considered a last resort and only occurs in a small number of cases. Code Enforcement serves as a partner in maintaining a high quality of life in Irving. Whether a condition needs to be reported or a Notice of Violation has been received, residents are encouraged to contact the department for assistance.
