The City of Irving is hosting a job fair Thursday, March 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Jack D. Huffman Community Building, 801 W. Irving Blvd. There are a number of positions across several departments and experience levels available, including Animal Services, Aquatics, Code Enforcement, Water Utilities, Parks and Recreation, Irving Fire Department, Solid Waste Services and the Irving Police Department. Some departments will hold on-site interviews, so bring resume copies to the event. Take a look at the current positions available, and apply at CityofIrving.org/Jobs. Hiring Incentive New full-time employees hired through June 30, 2023, can receive up to the maximum amount of $3,000* as a hiring incentive, distributed in the following increments: ● $1,000 after the first 30 days of employment. ● One-time payment of $1,000 after completion of the six-month probation period. ● Those who complete one year of employment will receive a one-time payment of $1,000. *Incentive payments are made provided there are no attendance or disciplinary issues. Irving Convention and Visitors Bureau Conducting Brand Study, Survey With new development continuing throughout the community, the Irving Convention and Visitors Bureau is currently undergoing an extensive brand survey to determine public perception of Irving’s unique brand. All Irving residents are invited and encouraged to participate in the survey, which will be conducted March 6-24. The goal is to anchor the city’s strategic objectives by focusing on Irving’s points of distinction, those that are both authentic and relevant, and to develop a plan to consistently communicate these to a wide range of SCAN ME audiences, including current and prospective visitors, economic development prospects, residents and others. The survey is available at IrvingTexas.com, and printed copies are available at Guest Services in Irving City Hall, 825 W. Irving Blvd. n
Irving Community Television Network (ICTN) Channels Feature Events, City Meetings Looking for video coverage of the latest local news, sports, arts and entertainment? How about seeing city government in action or your favorite shows from the past? It's all available on Irving Community Television Network’s (ICTN) three cable channels, now labeled by content. When you tune in, you will see a cube in the bottom right corner indicating what is featured on that channel. MUSIC ON MAIN COMES TO HERITAGE PARK What's better than a perfect spring evening spent with family, food, good times and live entertainment? Bring a lawn chair and blanket to Heritage Park for an evening of live music! Fridays in April | 7 p.m. Heritage Park, 217 S. Main St. Each Friday evening in April, live music will begin at 7 p.m. on the Heritage Park stage. Grab dinner at a restaurant downtown or from one of the on-site food vendors then show off your best dance moves on the lawn.
