CITY OF HIGH POINT CELEBRATES 2026 EMPLOYEE MILESTONE HONOREES
The City of High Point celebrated its employees' dedication and service during the 2026 Milestone Ceremony, held Tuesday, Sept. 15, at High Point Theatre. The annual celebration recognizes City employees who have reached significant milestones in their years of service. This year, employees celebrating 5 to 40 years of service were honored for their commitment to serving the High Point community. The ceremony provided an opportunity to recognize the many contributions, accomplishments and years of dedicated service represented by this year’s honorees. From five years of service to an impressive four decades, each milestone reflects a commitment to the City and the residents it serves. A special highlight of this year’s ceremony was the recognition of City Manager Tasha Logan Ford, who celebrated five years of service with the City of High Point. Mayor Cyril Jefferson honored Logan Ford during the ceremony, recognizing her milestone and contributions to the City. 4

The City of High Point is grateful for the time, talent and dedication you have given to our organization and community. Your service helps make High Point a stronger and better place to live, work and thrive. People played carnival games, took turns dunking Chief Cheeks, checked out equipment and displays from the department's SWAT Team, Drone Team and Animal Control Officers, watched a demo from the K9 Unit, and enjoyed a lunch prepared and served by HPPD officers. This is one of the department's largest community outreach events of the year. It is a chance for HPPD to connect with the community, introduce people to officers and staff, and thank the people who support HPPD throughout the year.

FOOD LION SUPPORTS MIRACLE LEAGUE OF HIGH POINT WITH GENEROUS DONATION AND 30+ VOLUNTEERS
The Miracle League of High Point was honored and appreciative to accept a generous donation from Food Lion as it recently kicked off its fall season! Food Lion also showed its support by providing more than 30 buddy volunteers from its corporate office in Salisbury and stores throughout the Greensboro and High Point region. Savannah Barone, one of our Miracle League parents, threw out the first pitch as a representative of Food Lion. It was a great evening and again, our thanks to Food Lion for its commitment to volunteerism and financial support, which helps make a difference in the lives of more than 150 local Miracle League players. Speaking of volunteers, we are almost always in need of Assistant Coaches and “Buddies” to support this wonderful program. If you or your company, team or service organization would like to spend a fun Friday evening or Saturday morning supporting our athletes during their one-hour games, please e-mail Stephanie Hedgecock at stephanie.hedgecock@highpointnc.gov.
