TWILIGHT PARADE
The Healdsburg Future Farmers Country Fair enjoyed great weather and strong attendance over the Memorial Day weekend. As always, the Fair kicked off with the Twilight Parade. Longtime Healdsburgers quip: “If you aren’t watching the parade, you must be in it!”

CELEBRATING HOUSING
On Thursday, May 21 Healdsburg City leaders joined affordable housing advocates to celebrate Bowman Place, an affordable housing project in Healdsburg aimed at households who make 80 percent of the Area Median Income.
Adding to the Bowman Place project, two more projects, on Dry Creek Road and at Saggio Hills, will total 221 new income-restricted housing units in Healdsburg.

HEALDSBURG FIRE KICKS OFF ANNUAL WEED ABATEMENT INSPECTIONS
The Healdsburg Fire Department has launched its annual weed abatement inspection program. Inspectors are now in the field assessing properties throughout City limits, and residents are encouraged to begin abatement work right away. Properties flagged during the initial inspection will receive a follow-up letter with a checklist and timeline.
What’s Required
Keep grasses cut down, remove dead brush and leaves, limb trees up at least six feet from the ground, and clear ladder fuels the lower vegetation that can carry flames into tree canopies.
Work Safely
Mow and use power equipment early in the morning, before 11 a.m., when temperatures are cooler and humidity is higher Never mow, weed-whack, or run gas-powered equipment in dry vegetation during a Red Flag Warning a single spark from a mower blade striking a rock has started some of California’s most destructive wildfires.

Don’t Forget Zone Zero
Pay special attention to Zone Zero the first five feet around your home or any structure. Winddriven embers, not direct flames, are the leading cause of home loss in wildfires, and this perimeter is where they most often ignite homes.
Keep it clear of combustibles: no bark mulch, no dry leaves or pine needles against the foundation, no firewood stacks, and no flammable furniture or planters against the siding. Hardscape like gravel, pavers, or bare soil is ideal. Don’t forget to clear debris from roofs, gutters, decks, and under decks and stairways.

The City Council of the City of Healdsburg is seeking qualified applicants to fill three openings on the City of Healdsburg Planning Commission.
Members of the Planning Commission are required to:
Attend two meetings per month generally at 6:00 p m on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month
Reside within City limits of Healdsburg
Disclose economic interest as required by the Fair Political Reform Act and the Local Conflict of Interest Code
Complete the required AB 1234 Ethics Training
