A Note from the Mayor:

Haltom City’s Music Scene Just Got Bigger

Haltom City has always been a place with a lot going on. Walk through our neighborhoods, visit our restaurants, talk to our residents, and you’ll find a community that is diverse, hardworking, and deeply proud of where they live. What we’ve been building here for years is starting to get noticed, and My Stomping Grounds is the latest example of why.

The incoming restaurant and live entertainment venue on Northern Cross Boulevard is the kind of investment that doesn’t happen by accident. It happens when a family believes in their city enough to bet on it. That’s exactly what the people behind My Stomping Grounds have done, and as mayor, I couldn’t be more grateful.

FAMILYFEST COMES TO HALTOM CITY

Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 9. Haltom City is rolling out the first annual FamilyFest at North Park from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and it’s shaping up to be the kind of day that brings the whole community together under one big Texas sky.

Built around four pillars of Food, Fishing, Music, and Market, FamilyFest has something for every age and every interest.

Haltom City has always had an identity. We are a diverse, community-minded city with a food scene and neighborly spirit that sets us apart in this region. What My Stomping Grounds brings is a new way for people to experience that identity, over good food, cold drinks, and live music, in a setting built specifically for this community.

FamilyFest: Haltom City’s Newest Signature Event

Whether you’re coming for the live music, the fresh finds, or just a good excuse to spend a Saturday outside with the family, you’ll find a reason to stick around.

Take on the Ninja Warrior Challenge

One of the biggest draws this year is a real, full-scale Ninja Warrior obstacle course set up right in the park. Kids, teens parents, and anyone feeling brave are invited to test their grip, balance, and determination. It’s the kind of thing you usually only see on TV, and it’s landing in North Park for one day only.

The main stage will feature local bands and young performers from School of Rock, bringing fresh energy and great tunes throughout the day. Grab a spot on the grass, bring a blanket, and settle in.

The Children’s Stage

Younger attendees have a stage of their own, with a lineup that includes live animal shows, storytime, and

other family-friendly entertainment designed to keep little ones engaged and smiling.

Cast a Line

True to its name, FamilyFest leans into one of North Texas’ favorite pasttimes with fishing at the park. It’s a great chance for first-timers to try it out and for seasoned anglers to share the fun with the next generation.

Food Trucks & the Farmers Market

Come hungry! A lineup of food trucks will be on hand with plenty of options to fuel your day. Right alongside them,

a farmers market will showcase local goods from farmers, makers, and small businesses across the area. It’s the perfect place to pick up something fresh, something handmade or something you didn’t know you needed.

FamilyFest is free, family-friendly, and open to all. Bring your neighbors, bring your out-of-town friends, and bring your appetite. We can’t wait to see you at North Park on Saturday, May 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. as Haltom City launches what’s sure to become one of our most beloved annual traditions.

The 15th Annual Mayor’s Cup Tees

Off May 1

Spring in North Texas means it’s time for one of the area’s most anticipated traditions. The 15th Annual Mayor’s Cup Golf Tournament returns Friday, May 1, to Fossil Creek Golf Club at 3401 Clubgate Drive in Fort Worth. Golfers of every skill level are invited for an afternoon of friendly competition on one of the region’s most picturesque courses.

The tournament follows a fourperson scramble format with a 1:30 p.m. shotgun start. Teams are invited to arrive at noon for registration and check-in, leaving plenty of time to warm up on the range, catch up with familiar faces, and take in the course before the first drive.

But the Mayor’s Cup is about more than low scores and long drives. Every dollar raised supports the Refresh BISD Back to School

Health Fair, an annual event that provides local students and families with school supplies, backpacks, groceries, health resources, and other essentials ahead of the new school year. It’s a cause that turns a day on the links into a lasting investment in the community.

Whether you’re a longtime participant or picking up your clubs for the first time, the Mayor’s Cup offers a rare combination of great golf, good company, and real community impact. Mark your calendar and we’ll see you on the course May 1.

Beautification Board

The Haltom City Beautification Board works to improve the quality of life in our community by involving citizens in cleanup, beautification, and revitalization efforts. Through these initiatives, the board encourages economic development and makes Haltom City a better place to live, work, and play.

The board meets at 6 pm on the 3rd Monday of each month at the Recreation Center. Members are appointed by City Council and work together to create programs that enhance our city’s appearance and livability.

Making Us Proud

Santiago’s Auto Electric, located at 5519 Bonner Drive, has been honored as the latest recipient of the Keep Haltom City Beautiful Business of the Quarter award. The Mayor and members of the City Council recently presented the owners with a special proclamation recognizing this distinguished achievement.

This quarterly recognition celebrates local businesses that take pride in their appearance and contribute to our community’s overall appeal. Recipients are selected by the Haltom City Beautification Board for consistently maintaining their properties with atention to landscaping, building upkeep, signage, and overall curb appeal. Santiago’s Auto Electric’s well-kept faciloity helps promote civic pride throughout the community.

The city encourages all local businesses to invest in their physical spaces and celebrates those who go above and beyond in keeping Haltom City an attractive place to live, work, and play. Congratulations to Santiago’s Auto Electric on this well deserved honor.

Capital Improvement Projects Designed to Serve

Today and Plan for tomorrow

What is a Capital Improvement Project?

A Capital Improvement Project, or CIP, is any major upgrade to the city’s infrastructure or facilities. That can mean rebuilding streets, renovating municipal buildings like libraries and fire and police stations, replacing aging water and sewer lines, protecting neighborhoods from flooding, or improving our parks.

Every project is different, but most share a few traits. They take several years to complete, they’re funded over a long timeline, and they move through distinct phases of planning, design, and construction.

Quiet Zone Project

A long-awaited Quiet Zone is coming to the Haltom Road crossing at the

Union Pacific Railroad tracks located near Haltom Road and Old Denton Road. Once UPRR completes its signalization upgrades, expected by the end of summer, trains will no longer be required to sound their horns as they pass through, bringing welcome relief to nearby residents and businesses.

Haltom City Public Library Earns 2025 Achievement of Excellence Award

The Haltom Public Library has been honored with the 2025 Achievement of Excellence in Libraries Award from the Texas Municipal Library Directors Association, placing it among the top 20 percent of public libraries in the state.

Of the 516 public library systems across Texas, only 101 received the recognition this year. The award celebrates libraries that demonstrate exceptional service, innovation, and

dedication to the communities they serve.

In its congratulatory message, the Association praised the library’s commitment to enriching the lives of residents and delivering outstanding programs and resources.

Congratulations to the staff and volunteers of the Haltom Public Library for this well-deserved recognition, and thank you for continuing to make our community a better place to learn, gather, and grow.

Catch Leaks Early: Sign Up for Leak Alerts in the New Smart Meter Portal

A hidden water leak can run up your bill fast. Haltom City’s new Smart Meter Portal will notify you by email, text, or voice message if your water usage looks unusual, so you can catch problems before they get expensive. Setup takes about five minutes. Grab a recent utility bill before you start.

Step 1: Create your profile

Go to www.haltomcitytx.com/online-payments.

Click Sign In / Register at the top right, then click Register.

Enter your email, password, name and phone number, then click register.

Check your email and click the link to complete your registration.

Step 2: Add your utility account

Log in and click Utility Billing under Available Services.

Click Add an Account.

Enter your account number and last payment amount, both found on your bill.

Step 3: Turn on Leak Alerts

From Utility Billing, click the Consumption tab. If you have more than one account, click More next to the account and select Consumption

Click the message icon above the usage chart.

Choose how you want to be notified: email, text, or voice message.

Toggle Leak Alerts on, then click Sign Up at the bottom of the page.

While you’re in there, you can also set alerts that flag unusually high usage or an estimated bill above an amount you choose.

Stormwater Quality

Stormwater is water that originates during precipitation events and snow/ice melt. Stormwater can pick up dirt, debris, and other contaminants and carry them to streams, creeks, and reservoirs. The major source of pollution to local watersheeds is stormwater runoff from urbanized areas.

Follow these pollution prevention measures to protect the quality of stormwater and our drinking water sources:

Always pick up after your pet

Do not fertilize your lawn before a rain event

Do not wash your vehicle on a paved surface; wash it on grass with as little soap as possible, or take it to a designated commercial car wash.

Do not pour oil and grease down the drain; recycle it instead Use organic lawn care methods

Do not blow grass clippings or leaves into streets and storm drains; mulch and leave them on your lawn instead

Recycle household hazardous waste, such as paint, motor oil, antifreeze, and batteries, by taking it to the nearest Environmental Collection Center.

Report stormwater pollution to the Public Works Department by using the City’s electronic tool available at www.haltomcitytx.com/stormwater.

Flood Insurance

Haltom City is a participant in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). Property owners and residents are eligible to purchase flood insurance to protect all or portions of their property. Please note that standard homeowners’ insurance policies do NOT cover flood damage.
