ABOUT OUR ATHLETICS DEPARTMENT

City of Greenville Athletics offers year-round programs that promote fun, skill development, and community connection for participants of all ages and ability levels. From introductory youth sports to competitive adult leagues, our programs are designed to help participants learn, grow, and stay active.

Mission

To inspire, engage and enrich our community through accessible and high-quality athletic programs that promote health, teamwork and a lifelong enjoyment of sports.

YOUTH & ADULT SPORTS

Programs Offered

Youth Soccer

Instructional program emphasizing fundamentals, teamwork, and game play. Spring & Fall | Ages 3–8

Adaptive Pickleball

PARTNER PROGRAMS

The City of Greenville partners with trusted local organizations to expand athletic opportunities and provide additional pathways for participation across a variety of sports and ability levels.

Inclusive pickleball programming designed to support athletes of varying abilities in a welcoming and accessible environment. Play Days occur on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month at Gower Park.

Volunteers are essential to the success of City of Greenville athletics, helping create a safe, positive, and engaging experience for participants, families, and the community.

Opportunities are available year-round across multiple programs, with training and materials provided—no prior experience required.

Coaches

Support youth development by leading practices, teaching fundamentals, and fostering teamwork and sportsmanship.

Referees & Scorekeepers

Help ensure fair play, safety, and a positive game environment by overseeing contests and accurately tracking scores, time, and basic game statistics.

Event Staff

Assist with tournaments, clinics, and special athletic events.

REGISTRATION SYSTEM

All City of Greenville athletics programs and facility reservations are managed through a centralized online registration system. This platform provides a streamlined experience for registering, reserving facilities, and accessing program information.

How To Register

Step 1: Create an account

• Visit the City of Greenville registration site and create an account

• Create one household account for your family

Step 2: Add Participants

• Add profiles for each participant (children or adults) before registering

Step 3: Find your program or facility

• Browse programs or facilities and select the option that fits your needs

Step 4: Complete Registration

• Fill out required information, waivers and submit payment (if applicable)

Step 5: Confirm

• Registration is complete once you receive a confirmation receipt

ATHLETIC AMENITIES IN PARKS

City of Greenville parks feature a variety of athletic amenities designed to support active recreation, casual play, and community wellness. These spaces are open for public use and enhance opportunities to stay active outdoors.

Amenities Available

Playgrounds – Spaces designed for free play and physical activity for children of all ages.

Outdoor Courts – Basketball, pickleball, tennis, and multi-use courts located throughout the park system.

Fields & Open Space – Open areas suitable for pick-up games, practice, and informal recreation.

Fitness Features – Outdoor fitness equipment and activity stations in select parks.
