Proudly presented by the City of Greater Geraldton in partnership with local associations and culturally diverse communities. This project has been supported by the Office of Multicultural Interests.

Harmony Week is the celebration that recognises our diversity and brings together community members from all different backgrounds. It is about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. Wear orange to show your support!

Program

HARMONY FESTIVAL – Midwest Multicultural Association

Saturday 14 March 2026, 3pm – 7pm, Stow Gardens Geraldton

The annual Midwest Multicultural Association Harmony Festival invites the community to travel across continents through an unforgettable celebration of culture, colour and connection. From the vibrant rhythms of India and Africa to the rich traditions of Nepal, Indonesia and the Philippines, audiences will experience a spectacular showcase of traditional dance and music all live and in glorious colour.

Festivities begin at 3pm, the stage will be a constant kaleidoscope of colour and rhythm complimented by cultural food, gift and information stalls as well as interactive activities for all members of the family.

Moving to the Midwest

Saturday 14 March – Monday 23 March, Geraldton Regional Library

Every individual’s life experience is unique and dynamic, particularly for those of us who have journeyed far from our homes to establish new lives in foreign countries (Immigration Place Australia).

Moving to the Midwest is a display of colourful and inspiring Migrant Stories from the City’s Local History Collection.

Harmony Week Display

Friday 13 March – Sunday 22 March 2026, daily 9.30am – 3pm, Museum of Geraldton

From Indonesia to Ireland, Geraldton is a dazzlingly multicultural city. This year for Harmony Week, the Museum of Geraldton is featuring a selection of cultural community groups that form part of the vibrant tapestry of the Mid West. Representing dozens of cultures and nationalities, all of these groups exemplify an ethos encapsulated in the 2026 Harmony Week theme of ‘Everyone Belongs.’

Pilates with Yeni

Tuesday 17 March, 12pm – 1pm, QEII Seniors & Community Centre (Upper Hall)

A gentle Pilates session followed by healthy snacks and relaxed social time, supporting seniors to stay active, boost wellbeing and build connections in an inclusive, welcoming environment—perfectly reflecting Harmony Week’s spirit of belonging and togetherness.

Come and Try Pickleball

Tuesday 17 March, 3pm – 6pm, QEII Seniors & Community Centre (Upper Hall)

Have a go at this fun, easy to learn sport and meet new people in a relaxed, social setting. Harmony Week celebrates inclusiveness, respect and belonging for everyone, making it the perfect time to try something new and enjoy a friendly game together.

Discover Cocos Malay Culture: Sarong Tying and Ketupat Parcel Making

Tuesday 17 March 4pm – 5.30pm, QEII Seniors & Community Centre (Meeting Room)

Enjoy a hands on cultural experience featuring traditional sarong tying, ketupat parcel weaving using ribbons, storytelling and colouring in cards for children with Cocos Malay names on the illustrations. A welcoming session designed to celebrate Cocos Malay culture through learning, creativity and shared participation.

Sunset Yoga with the Geraldton Yoga Club

Wednesday 18 March, 5.30pm – 6.30pm, Stow Gardens

Unwind, stretch and find your calm as the Geraldton Yoga Club guides you through a gentle sunset yoga session designed to relax the body and refresh the mind. Suitable for all levels, new and experienced, this welcoming and accessible practice encourages connection, mindfulness and shared wellbeing in a beautiful outdoor setting by the sea. BYO mat and water bottle.

Basket Weaving with Priscilla Papertalk

Wednesday 18 March, 3.30pm – 5.30pm, Geraldton Youth Centre

Thursday 19 March, 3pm – 4.30pm, QEII Seniors & Community Centre (Lower Hall)

Join Priscilla Papertalk for a hands on basket weaving session, offering a welcoming space to learn traditional techniques, connect with culture and enjoy a relaxed creative experience together.

Italian Pasta Making Class with Maria and Rosa

Thursday 19 March, 9.30am – 11.30am and 1.30pm - 3.30pm, QEII Seniors & Community Centre (kitchen)

Roll, shape and create fresh pasta under the guidance of true Italians, enjoying a hands on cooking session that brings people together through food, learning and shared enjoyment. Please note: Each class is limited to 8 participants only.

Zumba® Gold with Lisa

Thursday 19 March, 2pm – 3pm, QEII Seniors & Community Centre (Upper Hall)

Join Lisa for an energising Zumba session filled with global rhythms, movement and fun. This upbeat class is a great way to stay active, connect with others and celebrate Harmony Week through dance inspired fitness in a welcoming, inclusive setting.

Indian Dancing Lesson with Soumya

Join Soumya for a vibrant Indian dance session filled with rhythm, movement and cultural expression. Enjoy an uplifting hour of dancing that brings people together through music, learning and shared enjoyment.

Art Class with Jim Evans

Harmony Week Story Time

Come celebrate our rich, diverse multicultural community by listening to stories, singing songs and rhymes and dancing too! With light refreshments provided at the conclusion of Story Time.

Harmony Week Somatic Movement Session

Friday 20 March, 11.15am – 12.15pm, QEII Seniors & Community Centre (Upper Hall)

Join Cath from the Geraldton Yoga Club for a gentle somatic movement session that encourages slow, mindful awareness to ease tension and support wellbeing. This calming practice promotes connection with your body and a sense of harmony during the week’s celebrations. BYO mat and water bottle. Chairs available for anyone with limited mobility.

Join Aditi from the Geraldton Yoga Club for light activities, gentle movement and a calming guided meditation. This uplifting session promotes connection and shared wellbeing during Harmony Week, with a few joyful moments along the way. BYO mat and water bottle. QPT Club Summer Film 2026: Monsieur Aznavour

Enjoy a special Harmony Week screening of Monsieur Aznavour, complemented by French pastry refreshments for a relaxed and charming film experience.

Sundays by the Sea

Sunday 22 March, 5pm – 7pm, Stow Gardens

A special Sundays by the Sea session will be included as part of our Harmony Week celebrations, offering a relaxed afternoon by the foreshore with live music, food and a welcoming community atmosphere.

Clay on Country, Ceramics from the Central Desert

7 February – 5 April, Geraldton Regional Art Gallery

Showcasing the passion for ceramic practice in the central desert region Clay on Country is a diverse and eclectic survey that includes 32 artists and collectives.
