It’s easy to become an Adult 50+ member:

• Be at least 50 years or better

• Register for membership (available at the Senior Center or online)

Visitor pass

Thinking about becoming a member? Adults 50+ are welcome to spend the day as a guest with a $5 Visitor Pass. Guests may sign up for any social or lecture for the day, if space is available, and will receive a temporary parking permit for that day.

GiFt cards

Looking for a gift that encourages having fun and staying active for a friend or family member ages 50 and better? The Cupertino Senior Center offers gift cards redeemable towards membership, classes, and more. Gift cards make great gifts and are available for purchase at the Senior Center's front desk.

The Stay Active Fund helps adults 50 years and older to remain active and engaged by participating in activities at the Cupertino Senior Center. This fund provides financial assistance through scholarships to offset the cost for Senior Center membership and registrations for classes and events. The Stay Active Fund is available from January 1 until the funds are depleted. Please contact the Senior Center front desk for more details.

Health Insurance Counseling (HICAP)

Find out what your options are with Medicare and what will work best for you. The Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program will help you fully understand your Medicare options.

Caregiver Support Group

May 19, June 16, July 21, August 18

1 to 2:30 p.m.

Caregiving is tough and you do not have to do it alone. Join other friend and family caregivers to learn about resources, share experiences, and enjoy a social outlet. Lead by the Caregiver Network of Sourcewise, a Santa Clara County resource agency for seniors, the group is for caregivers of adults 60 and older or someone of any age with a dementia type disease (Huntington’s, early onset Alzheimer’s traumatic brain injury, etc.).

Silicon Valley Hopper

Use Silicon Valley Hopper to get to the grocery store, local eateries, the post office, and more. Cupertino residents can also ride to medical appointments at Kaiser Santa Clara and Sutter Health West Valley Center. Senior fares are $1.75 per trip. Case Management by Avenidas

May 7, June 4, July 2, August 6 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.

An Avenidas Care Manager will provide personalized support and help connect individuals to resources, benefits, and providers. They can offer guidance through the challenges that come with aging and help navigate an increasingly complex health care system.

Senior Adult Legal Aid (SALA)

May 15, June 12, July 17, August 14 10 a.m. to noon

Free assistance to elders for basic legal matters in public benefits, long-term care, elder abuse, housing, consumer issues, incapacity planning probate alternative, and simple wills. Must be 60 or older and live in Santa Clara County. If unable to meet in person, call (408) 295-5991.

Learn about TV production to create awardwinning shows for public-access TV and YouTube. No experience needed, just bring your ideas and enthusiasm. Come join the fun!

Open Game Play

Tuesday, Noon to 4 p.m.

Drop in to play a board game or card game at your leisure. Members are welcome to bring their own games to play with others.

Quilting Social

Tuesday, 1 to 4:30 p.m.

Our Quilting Social Group is a warm, welcoming space to work on your own quilt projects, share tips, and enjoy friendly conversation. Participants must bring their own sewing machine, tools, and fabric.

Preregistration and Senior Center membership required to participate.

The Cupertino Sandlot softball group warms-up and takes batting practice at 9 a.m. A pick-up game starts promptly at 10 a.m. each week.

Season price $65. Senior Center membership required to participate.

Book Club

First Thursday, 2 to 3 p.m.

Read the monthly book and join a discussion regarding the book, led by the Cupertino Library. Those registered will be provided with a copy of the book to be read before the meeting date.

Discussion is geared towards the interest of those who attend each session.

Join our Needlecraft volunteer group to make knitted items for local homeless shelters and hospitals.

Must be a Senior Center volunteer to participate.

Form your own groups or meet others to play. All players are welcome.

Karaoke Weekly Social

Thursday, 1 to 4:30 p.m.

Sing your favorite songs and enjoy a fun afternoon of music and laughter. All levels of singers welcome.

Drop in to our Tech Lab and receive 1-on-1 help with any technology questions you have for any device. Assistance will be a first come first served basis and are limited to one question at a time.

Live Well Age Well Health Expo

Friday, May 8

10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Join the Cupertino Senior Center for its annual Live Well Age Well Health Expo! Learn about resources through informational presentations, booths, and activity demonstrations. Healthy boxed lunches will be sold for $5 while supplies last.

First 50 attendees receive a free lunch.

Disco at Dusk

Friday, June 26

6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Cupertino Community Hall

Disco at Dusk is back this summer for a fun evening of music, dancing, and activities for all ages as the sun sets! You will get your own pair of wireless headphones that have three channels playing different types of music. The color of your headphones lets others know which channel you are grooving to.

Angel Island with Tram Tour

Wednesday, June 17, 8:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Visit Angel Island and see its rich history and natural beauty. You adventure begins with a scenic ferry ride from San Francisco's Ferry Building to sail. Once docked on the island, you will embark on an openair tram tour which will explore the island while providing insight narration. Afterwards, you can visit the United States Immigration Station for a selfguided museum tour, and enjoy the island's stunning surroundings.

Member Cost: $134 – Inlcudes Round-Trip Ferry Ride, Tram Tour, Transportation, Tips, and Travel Staff.

Activity Level: Moderate to High; boarding and deboarding ferry, unpaved and uneven pathways, some stairs at the Immigration Station, walking at your own pace.

Lavender Farm and Petaluma

Wednesday, July 8, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Enjoy a sweet and scenic day trip to charming Petaluma. We’ll start at a local bee farm with an engaging introduction to beekeeping and the important role bees play, plus honey tastings, lavender cookies, and refreshing lavender lemonade. Guests can stroll the fragrant lavender fields and browse the gift shop for locally made goods. Afterward, head to historic downtown Petaluma for lunch and free time to explore local eateries, boutique shops, and the picturesque riverfront.

Member Cost: $147 – Inlcudes Docent-led Tour, Tasting, Transportation, Tips, and Travel Staff

Santa Cruz Beach Train

Wednesday, July 15, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Experience a fun-filled coastal day trip to Santa Cruz filled with history, ocean views, and discovery. The adventure begins with a ride on the historic Roaring Camp Railroad, traveling through towering redwood forests aboard a vintage steam train. Guests will then enjoy a relaxing hosted lunch in scenic Santa Cruz with beautiful waterfront views. In the afternoon, explore the Seymour Marine Discovery Center and its engaging exhibits on marine life and ocean conservation. Wrap up the day with tidal pools, sea breezes, and classic Santa Cruz charm before heading home.

Member Cost: $176 – Inlcudes Lunch, Admission Tickets, Transportation, Tips, and Travel Staff.

Monet and Venice

Thursday, July 23, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Experience a stunning exhibition at the de Young Museum in San Francisco celebrating Claude Monet’s luminous Venice paintings. Monet and Venice, coorganized with the Brooklyn Museum, is the first major show of his Venetian cityscapes in over a century, featuring more than 100 works alongside pieces by Pierre-Auguste Renoir, John Singer Sargent, and Canaletto.

Afterward, enjoy a no-host lunch in North Beach/ Little Italy, with its inviting selection of Italian eateries and cafés.

The San Francisco Flower Market and KQED

Wednesday, August 5, 8:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.

Start your day with an educational, guided tour of the vibrant and bustling San Francisco Flower Market at its new Potero Hill location. Explore the largest wholesale flower market in Northern California and learn how the local florists, event and wedding planners, and flower enthusiasts source unique blooms and floral supplies.

Enjoy lunch in the city before heading to KQED's studio and newsroom to see how their reports tackle the news - day in and day out.

Member Cost: $127 – Inlcudes Lunch, 2 docent-led tours, Transportation, Tips, and Travel Staff.

Activity Level: Moderate to High; walking in a working marketplace with potentially uneven or slippery surfaces.

Carmel-by-the-Sea

Wednesday, August 19, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Spend a day in this quaint village by the sea, without having to drive or worry about parking! Carmelby-the-Sea is a community rich in the history and traditions of early California. Highlighting over 90 art studios and galleries, it also boasts numerous antique shops, loads of boutiques, and loads of small, intimate bakeries, cafes, and restaurants. Carmel promises hours of discovery as you enjoy the peaceful, European ambiance while strolling through winding streets and exploring secluded courtyards. You may feel like exploring Carmel Mission and the Mission ranch or digging your toes in the sand at Carmel beach. You decide, it’s your day!

Member Cost: $75 – Inlcudes Transportation, Tips, and Travel Staff.

Have expert knowledge on a specific subject or exercise? Become a volunteer instructor to share your skill set and engage others of similar interest. We are seeking instructors for Japanese, meditation, cardio drumming, bridge, chess, PC, and more.

Kitchen Crew

Are you the chef in the kitchen or enjoy cooking? Join a fun group and to help prepare and cook delicious meals for our monthly lunches and special events.

Volunteer Portal Workshop

Need help logging your volunteer hours? Take a refresher on how to access the volunteer portal, record hours, and navigate the system. Staff will be available to answer questions and provide assistance. This workshop is only for current volunteers.
