Take the Carrollton Police Department’s Civil Service Entrance Exam on Saturday, January 18. The annual starting salary is $77,812, increasing to an eight-year top out of $109,926. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and have completed at least 60 college credit hours. Not 21 years of age? Apply for the Detention Officer position and gain valuable law enforcement experience. Three years’ experience as a Detention Officer eliminates the college requirement for applying to be a Police Officer. The minimum age to apply is 18. A Lateral Entry Program is available for certified applicants who have completed all initial training and have at least one year of continuous service as a paid, full-time Police Officer, including out-of-state agencies (pending approval). ity Council approved a 27,511-squarefoot expansion of Rosemeade Recreation Center in April 2023. A Wednesday, November 6 ribbon-cutting ceremony officially opened the new features at the Center.

The addition was designed to better accommodate recreation needs in areas such as pickleball, basketball, badminton, volleyball, and other indoor large-format programs or activities. The project’s original scope included the addition of a full-size gym to meet NCAA configurations and modifications of affected hallways and rooms to ensure the continuation of current programs. During the design phase, the scope was expanded to include: f Additional multi-purpose court f Elevated walking track f Esports room (second one in Carrollton Recreation Centers) f Restroom upgrades f Storage Rosemeade Recreation Center was originally built in 1981 with expansions in 2002 and 2012. The construction contract was awarded in an amount not to exceed $7.18 million. Voter-approved money from the 2018 and 2022 bond elections funded the improvements.
