SWIM LESSONS

SWIM LESSONS

Youth Outdoor Pool Swimming Lessons

Classes are available at all outdoor pools through Boise Parks and Recreation’s Aquatic Lesson Program. Each 2-week session consists of 8, 25-minute classes. Days may vary due to holidays and swim meets. Class sizes are limited, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Preschool classes are available for ages 2-4 years and must be accompanied by an adult in the water. For all other classes, students must be at least four years old. Please use the descriptions below to place your child in the class that best matches their current skill level. If you are not sure which lesson is best, please first read through the descriptions below. If you still have questions, call Fort Boise Community Center at 208-608-7680.

TIPS FOR BOOKING SWIM LESSONS:

• Please read the descriptions of each class below carefully before booking, so that you can find the best match for your child.

• If you plan to book more than one session, we recommend not booking more than two of the same level. Choose one level up on the third session, unless your child is enrolled in the pre-school class, which requires an adult. Example: Book session # 1 for Adventurers, session # 2 for Adventurers and session #3 for Explorers. These are progressive classes.

• Know your child; will they need a break between sessions?

• If registration is full for your swimmer’s age group, be sure and add them to the waitlist for an opportunity to enroll in your requested session. If a waitlist spot becomes available, you will be contacted prior to the start of the session.

PICKLEBALL LADDER LEAGUES

AGES 16+ Ladder leagues are organized leagues where players with similar skills compete against each other weekly in a competitive, structured format. Think of a pickleball “ladder” as a graphical representation of a player’s ranking (by skill and performance) over a period of time. The rungs on the ladder represent a player’s current position (ranking) on the ladder relative to the other players. The top rung is the individual currently ranked the highest (the best winning percentage) and the bottom rung is the lowestranked individual. The ultimate goal is to climb the ladder to the highest rung.

PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENTS

Join us for a fun two-day round robin style tournament. Over the course of the two days you will get the opportunity to play with all 15 other participants. For example, if Andy, Betsy, Charlie and Denise are assigned to a court, Andy + Denise play Betsy + Charlie, then Andy + Charlie play Betsy + Denise, then Andy + Betsy play Charlie + Denise. After all three games are completed, the scores are reported

to the information table. Over the course of the tournament, players will play at least 15 games (to 11, win by 1). If you make the top four, you will play an additional 3 game championship round. Prizes will be given for 1st and 2nd place.

SCORING: Standings will be compiled by total points earned, the top four will move into a championship round to end the tournament and determine the final standings. Lunch and a t-shirt are included in your registration. Must Register individually!

This is an individual registration that includes a prize and lunch, and the opportunity to play with everyone else in the group.

PILATES

Enjoy a series of non-impact exercises to develop strength, flexibility, balance and inner awareness while strengthening abs, obliques and back muscles. Muscles are strengthened and lengthened without creating bulk which is helpful in preventing and rehabilitating from injuries.
