Wear your best red or pink festive attire and join in on the celebration with entertainment by Kent Appeldoorn. Come and enjoy light refreshments and love songs at 11AM. Then we will give out door prizes as we dine on a lunch of chicken Kiev, rice pilaf, roasted vegetables, a banana, dinner rolls with butter, and a strawberry cheesecake cup. Lunch will be served at Noon.

Keep Your Heart Healthy at MAYC Each February marks American Heart Month. Raising awareness about heart health and urging Americans to reduce their risk of developing heart disease. Taking care of your heart health has never been more important and there is a lot you can do to prevent heart disease. Encourage others to join you. It is never too late to start. There are dozens of ways to spread heart health messages during February and beyond. Join your MAYC friends in these few ways:

Be Social with Everyday Activities MAYC activities that get your heart pumping faster, such as bingo, Wii bowling, ping pong, card games, and more.

Resistance Training Activities that build muscle, such as moderate weightlifting. Take a virtual or in-person fitness class at MAYC.

Eating Healthier Foods

Have lunch at MAYC. Eating enough vegetables and fruits, substituting fried foods for baked options, and reducing your caloric intake.

Manage Stress Levels Stress strongly influences multiple health conditions, and acute stress can even trigger a heart attack. Reduce stress by picking up a good book or puzzle; laugh with friends; volunteer; and take part in celebrations at MAYC.

Wear Red on the First Friday of February Take part in National Wear Red Day to raise awareness about heart disease and encourage others to do the same.
