Vern McClanahan, our MAYC bus driver and volunteer, served in the Air Force for five years out of high school. That is where Vern was able to work and travel the world learning valuable skills that set him up in life for success and future service opportunities. His choice to serve his country was an easy one. Giving back to the country and helping people is what he loves to do. After the service, Vern began his career with Veterans Affairs at the VA Hospital. In addition, Vern has volunteered and helped with a number of senior service organizations and disabled veteran groups. We are very fortunate and want to thank Vern for continuing his sense of service with us here at the Mary Ann Young Center. And, on this and every Veterans Day, we remember and honor all of our veterans and all they continue to do for our country. We also honor the spouses, partners, and children of our service members for their sacrifices and support.
