City Appoints New Chief of Police

The City of Arroyo Grande is proud to announce the appointment of David Culver as the new Chief of Police. Chief Culver, a 17-year law enforcement veteran, has been with the Arroyo Grande Police Department since 2019 and has served in a variety of leadership roles, most recently as Interim Chief since May 2025. Following a nationwide recruitment, he was selected as the top candidate from a highly qualified pool to lead the department and continue its tradition of service to the community. Throughout his career, Culver has built a reputation for dedication, professionalism, and community engagement. He looks forward to continuing to serve the residents of Arroyo Grande with integrity and a strong commitment to public safety.

Mark your calendars! The Arroyo Grande Harvest Festival returns September 26–27 with fun for the whole family. Kick off the weekend with a Friday night movie under the stars at Heritage Square Park featuring Lilo & Stitch. On Saturday, enjoy the beloved parade, pieeating contest, diaper derby, wiener dog races, delicious food and drinks, and so much more. Don’t miss this Arroyo Grande tradition!
