Field trips and tours*
The Hearst Center welcomes field trips and tours! Trips and tours can be customized to include art activities, time in the galleries, and time in the sculpture garden (weather permitting). Prices vary and are dependent on types of activities and number of participants.
Face Painting & Outreach Activities*
Hearst Center instructors are available to do face painting and art activities for community and corporate events. Collecting Artwork:
Student artwork can be picked up for a full four weeks following the last day of class. Artwork left at the Hearst Center more than four weeks after the class ends will be recycled.
Cancellations:
Don’t wait! We encourage you to register yourself and your family early to ensure a reservation in classes and workshops. Programs not meeting the minimum requirement one week before the start date are subject to cancellation and registered participants are notified. Unless otherwise indicated, minimum enrollment for children’s classes is three and the minimum enrollment for adults’ classes is five. Registration for a program is accepted until the day that program begins if it is not cancelled. If you must cancel or change your registration: • Please call the front desk at 319.273.8641. • A handling fee of $10 for all refunds applies. • No fee is charged if a course is canceled by the Hearst Center due to low enrollment. • No fee is charged if a participant transfers to another class when the request is made at least seven days before the class begins. • A 50% refund is issued for cancellations made between one and six days before the course begins. • Students do not receive a refund if they cancel or change on the day the course starts or after it begins.

The Hearst Center’s 2016 classroom renovations were made possible in part by grants from the Black Hawk County Gaming Association, the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa, and the Iowa Arts Council, with additional funds from Friends of the Hearst, Thursday Painters, and donors to the 2015 and 2016 Annual Campaigns.
