Hello everyone,

This week I wanted to talk about what is needed from our athletes daily.

Everyday our athletes need to bring

● Warm-ups (hoodie and sweatpants)

● Workout clothes (shirt and shorts/leggings)

● Running shoes

● Event spikes (or throwing shoes)

● Water and snacks

● Sunscreen (recommendation only)

It is really important to have these everyday as we vary through running, stretching/mobility movements, weight lifting, block starts, and relay handoff practice. If one of the athletes for our relays does not have their spikes, it affects the rest of their teammates practice and it can impact the race negatively.

As we are approaching summer in a few months and with the current heat wave that hit San Diego, it is critical that everyone hydrates throughout the day with water, coconut water, gatorade, and electrolyte packs. The last thing we want is for someone to faint due to dehydration or get a horrible cramp.

Thank you all for everything you do!
