Another successful dual meet this past week against Canyon Hills High formally known as Serra High. We had some great performances and we are seeing some vast improvements from our younger athletes with new personal records and big smiles!

This past weekend we also went to the Mt. SAC Relays up north where we hadAnastasia Volkov compete in the high jump, Janae Stanley Castillo throw shot put, our boy’s 4x1600 + DMR and Girl’s 4x800!

Everyone did really well and we are immensely proud of them competing in an invitational where the slogan is “Where the world’s best athletes compete.” I hope everyone feels accomplished and proud of themselves. It is not a small accomplishment! Many olympians, college athletes and professional athletes compete there to this day.

● Inov8 Training Shoes -

I have found that shoes are something athletes struggle with.As every track athlete should have a pair of running shoes as everyone ends up running at some point (including throwers), I would recommend some weightlifitng/gym sneakers as well for help with stability and injury prevention.Attached is a link for just one pair out of hundreds of different types

Happy Monday everyone,

This week I wanted to attach a couple of articles that caught my attention while studying for a hypertrophy training phase I have been working on.These articles vary in length but include great information about off season track and field training.

One thing I have mentioned to graduating seniors is I will always be available to help out with training even if it is not in person. I will gladly come up with weight training regimens, running workouts and mobility movements to stay elastic and feeling good.

Please always utilize myself and the rest of the coaching staff for help.

● Runner’s World Magazine article about off-season training for high schoolers - short but informative read me!

● Coaches Insider article about off-season training including weight workouts and running workouts including intensity and rep count study me!
