First, I want to give a huge congrats to all of our athletes that have finished their season and are now on some well earned rest.
We still have a couple of more weeks left in the championship season and some of our athletes may be feeling fatigued which is normal in this sport. It is constant training consisting of high intensity running intervals, full body weight lifting days, plyometrics, and always fine tuning the skills we learn throughout the season.
There are always injuries that typically happen to track athletes if they are not taking care of themselves. One that I have heard of throughout the season is the infamous achilles injury.
Below are some simple at-home calf/achilles movements:
Daily:
● Light calf stretching (straight leg + bent knee)
● Foam rolling calves
● Ankle mobility work
● Foot strength (toe raises, towel curls)
2–3x per week:
● Eccentric heel drops
● Single-leg calf raises
● Glute strengthening (helps reduce lower leg overload)
After hard sprint days:
● Ice the shins if irritated/full body ice “bath”
● Recovery walk or bike flush
● Good training shoes after spikes come off

track season ends to make sure the athletes absolute speed and strength/power in their bodies or more specifically their legs, some form of recovery after weeks of competing must be completed or else there is a risk of injury.
Attached are links to two different articles that are going to be referencing recovery

Many of our athletes have gotten massage treatment from Coach Krishna over the past couple of weeks and will continue to do so throughout the rest of the season for those competing and in need of some immediate/last minute help.
We are almost there!Thank you to all the families for your continued help and support.
-Coach Ciro H.
