A Tony-recognized Arts Educator, Roderick is a nationally renowned and award-winning director, choreographer, costume designer, playwright, actor, and Broadway producer (How to Dance in Ohio). Celebrating 20 incredible years with The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati this season, he is known for being a mentor to hundreds of young performers in addition to producing theatre-for-youth for over two decades. In 2020, Roderick was recognized as one of Cincinnati’s

Director in 2015, he has launched over 30 world-premiere original works and adaptations of theatre for young audiences. The Emery marks his second capital campaign/facility growth Road. Roderick also serves as guest artist with many local and national arts organizations where for the past 7 years, he has helped to raise

Nate Bertone is a NYC–based designer, director, playwright, and producer whose work has been seen around the globe. He is delighted to return to TCT and the brand new Emery Theatre. As a multi-disciplinary storyteller, Nate aims to create and support works that

uplift new voices and unique stories through different mediums. WEST END: Set Designer, Christina Aguilera’s Burlesque. YELENA BABINSKAYA

Lighting Design

Yelena Babinskaya (she/her) is a scenographer who has been an active member of the entertainment community for the last twenty years. Originally from Odesa, Ukraine, she has worked as a lighting, scenic, and costume designer, and as an educator throughout the country. She has taught classes on a wide range of topics, from introductions to design to advanced project management for opera, and has presented at various conferences. She is thrilled to be teaching at her alma mater. Yelena holds a Master of Fine Arts from UCLA and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Northern Colorado. She was the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion editor on the 9th Edition of Michael Gillete’s Theatrical Design and Production. In 2021, Yelena was part of a team that received the Opera America grant for their proposal to develop a new opera for Opera Hack 3.0. That project is still ongoing. JAMEY STRAWN

Music Director

Jamey is a professor in the NKU Theatre and Dance program, where he serves as the Coordinator of Musical Theatre. Aside from teaching musical theatre courses, he enjoys teaching with CCSA in the study abroad program in London. Jamey has composed music for several published works for the stage, including Sleeping Beauty-Rise And Shine, A. Lincoln: A Pioneer Tale, Snow White And The Dancing Dwarfs, The Day Before Christmas, Church Girls, and Burgertown. When he is not writing, Jamey is directing, musical directing, performing, and teaching.

ANGELO CERNIGLIA

Angelo is in his seventh season at TCT as the Education Director of TCT’s Academy and is

This year marks Kevin Frisch’s 20th year building puppets for Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati, creating impactful happy memories for children! Founder of ArtoFrisch and the Frisch Marionette Company, Kevin began his professional puppetry career performing with The PuppetWorks Inc. in New York under the direction of Nick Coppola, before establishing his own company in 1995. Frisch Marionettes also brings performances and educational programs to schools, offering students a hands-on introduction to theatre arts. His work has
