Looking for kid-friendly eats? Date night spots? A trailside refuel? Maybe you’re planning a big group outing? Clermont County’s restaurant scene has it all.
BY SARAH McCOSHAM
Any parent will tell you that dining with kids can be a challenge, but these family-friendly restaurants in Clermont County are kid-tested, parent-approved!
RJ Cinema Distillery & Tap Room takes the date night concept of “dinner and a movie” and makes it family friendly. Come for a kid-friendly flick, stay for the food (and brews!)—RJ BBQ boasts some of the best ’cue in Clermont County and if the Hickory Smoked Brisket Platter doesn’t whet your kids’ appetites, the grilled cheese and fries surely will.
Pizza is a universal family favorite and Loveland’s The Works is a local standout. The pizza menu features everything from classic cheese and pepperoni to Hawaiian, cheeseburger, and taco varieties; we recommend the signature “Works” Pizza, which features four different proteins plus mushrooms and housemade sauce. After dinner, enjoy a leisurely stroll through Downtown Loveland or stop by Nisbet Park and let the kids burn off some of that ’za.
If it’s a home cooked meal you’re craving, The Feedmill in Felicity is just as good as grandma’s. With a menu that includes classics like country fried steak and mashed potatoes, Salisbury steak, and chili spaghetti, The Feedmill is an unabashedly nostalgic and unfussy dining experience that makes family dinner fun and delicious.

Clermont County’s restaurants, breweries, and even a vineyard offer spaces for a memorable night out with your special person.
With 20 Brix in Downtown Milford, Executive Chef David Marlow has created a menu full of innovative dishes that are a mix of new American cuisine and traditional southern cooking, with a sprinkle of classic French flair. The dining room is gorgeous, the wine list is extensive, and the lunch and dinner menus offer both casual options (the 20 Brix Burger) and elevated entrées (salmon with fingerling potatoes and scallops with mushroom risotto). Pro tip: ask your server for a wine pairing based on your order!

Whether you come for lunch, brunch, dinner, or drinks, Loveland’s Tano Bistro is a local favorite offering a casual-yet-elevated dining experience. We’re partial to the brunch menu (what a fun day date option!), which features leveled-up versions of avocado toast, omelettes, and even the iconic Kentucky hot brown!
Come for the drinks, stay for the vibes— Cincinnati Distilling Company is a true date night winner. From the well-appointed restaurant, rooftop bar, and museum/art gallery, this Milford gem offers an all-in-one date night experience. If you want to keep the romantic vibes going, enjoy a post-meal stroll through Old Milford.

You don’t need to travel to Napa for a Wine Country experience; pack a picnic and enjoy fresh local wine and live music at Harmony Hill Vineyard. Open seasonally, the 70-acre vineyard in Bethel hosts specialty events throughout the year, including tastings held in its underground Wine Cave.

Walking, biking, or paddling the Little Miami Scenic Trail is sure to work up a hearty appetite, and luckily, there are lots of options to refuel along the trail.
In the heart of historic Old Milford, Little Miami Brewing Company is located just steps from its namesake river. In fact, during the summer you’ll often see paddlers dock their watercraft and head to the porch for a beer and bite! While best-known for its brews (up to 16 on tap with an ever-rotating array of seasonal offerings), the brewery also boasts a bevy of casual noshes like nachos, pizzas, and wraps.
With an enclosed patio and rooftop deck, Ramsey’s Trailside is a summertime favorite and Loveland institution known for delicious food and casual, family-friendly vibes. (The restaurant is open year-round, however, with seasonal hours during the fall and winter.) Park your bike at this trailside spot and order a Bavarian Pretzel and drink while perusing the menu, which has, among all-American classics, several vegan options prepared on a designated veg-only grill.
In Batavia just off the Little Miami River, Bean and Brew has all your culinary cravings covered, from coffee to cocktails, brunch to burgers. If your morning ride on the trail worked up a big appetite, the Loaded Mac and Cheese will make your rumbling tummy very happy.
Located literally steps away from the Bike Trail, The Miami Trailyard is known for its variety of delicious lunch and dinner options and family (and dog!) friendly atmosphere. Come for the food, stay for the views—The Miami Trailyard is an excellent spot for people watching!
In charming Williamsburg near East Fork and just off the Williamsburg to Batavia Hike/Bike Trail, Paradise East Brewery & Taproom is the local brewery’s newest location. Here you’ll find light noshes and delicious brews that prove “pub grub” is a totally legitimate (and tasty!) dining course.

Need to feed a crowd for a work function or family gathering? Clermont County has some fab options for feeding a crew.

Mt. Carmel Brewing Company is an adorable spot located in bucolic Mt. Carmel, offering some of the most spectacularly scenic outdoor dining in the area. In addition to a 30-barrel brewhouse, the Carriage House hosts a from-scratch kitchen open for lunch and dinner that also accommodates private events for up to 150 people.
A traditional Japanese restaurant in Milford, Tokugawa Steakhouse and Hibachi Grill is a fun option for large groups that offers an experience for foodies who enjoy the art of the craft—the teppanyaki show is a must! Tokugawa Steakhouse and Hibachi Grill can host events or cater parties, making this restaurant an easy winner when it comes to planning a big to-do.
In New Richmond, Ohio (site of the annual Cardboard Boat Regatta!), Casa De Landing offers some of the best riverfront views of any restaurant in Clermont County—or Cincinnati! Your best bet for a large-scale outdoor event, this Mexican restaurant boasts beautiful outdoor seating, a full bar, and a live music stage sure to turn your next party into a true fiesta.

Clermont County celebrates the nation’s 250th birthday with a new history program.
BY SARAH McCOSHAM
This year marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and Clermont County joins the nationwide America 250 celebration in a big way with the Clermont County History & Museum Passport. For the first time, 13 of the county’s museums and historical sites unite to encourage curiosity and exploration. See how our past informs our present at the county’s museums, historic sites, and points of interest, where you’ll discover early settlement stories, local history, agriculture, and the legacy of President Ulysses S. Grant. Pick up a passport at any of the 13 participating locations—many of which are also part of the Land of Grant Trail and the Clermont County Freedom Trail (learn more about those trails at right)—and explore at your own pace; whether you stop by just one museum or all 13, each site promises engaging exhibits, knowledgeable volunteers, and plenty of opportunities to reflect on our country’s past while looking toward the future.

All participating sites on the History & Museum Passport will be open on Museum Days from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, making it easy to explore multiple locations in one day.
Mark your calendars for Museum Days on March 28, July 11, and September 19!

History buffs should bookmark An American Moment, an America 250 Clermont project. Acclaimed local author and historian Gary Knepp is writing a series of 24 online articles about American history, exploring subjects both local (suffragette Elizabeth Archard Conner) and national (Thomas Paine’s Common Sense).

Among the 17 sites on this trail, which celebrates the life and legacy of Ulysses S. Grant, the 18th President of the United States, are the small white house near Big Indian Creek where Grant was born and the Clermont County Historical Society and Harmony Hill Dairy House Museum, where you can get a deeper understanding of Clermont County’s history. Whether you prefer your adventures on the water, in the woods, or on two wheels, there’s a Clermont County trail that’s your pathway to outdoor fun.
BY SARAH McCOSHAM

An underrated gem in Southwest Ohio, Stonelick State Park covers 1,000 acres of land and 200 acres of water, with four hiking and biking trails traversing this gorgeous oasis. At just .35 miles long, the Southwoods Trail is an easy trek for families, while the 1.6-mile Beechtree Trail is perfect for more intermediate hikers. Insider tip: Stay after dark and enjoy some of the best stargazing in Clermont County!

The Ohio River Trail is a shared-use path stretching from Clermont County in the eastern part of Greater Cincinnati to southeast Indiana in the west. It follows the Ohio River, and while avid hikers could certainly make an afternoon out of the full 4.6-mile stretch, families or low-key walkers can start at Sawyer Point Playground and end at Carol Ann’s Carousel for a very accessible, mile-long walk full of landmarks and of course, lots of riverboats.

Beloved by paddlers (kayaking past the Loveland Castle is a must on any Clermont County itinerary!), the Little Miami River also offers plenty of opportunities for non-aquatic recreation, thanks to the Little Miami Scenic Trail. Park in Downtown Loveland or Milford and enjoy a stroll or ride along the Little Miami—make a day out of it by planning a meal at one of the many trailside restaurants, ice cream shops, and breweries.
The Ohio River Scenic Byway is proof positive that not all trails need to be tackled on foot! Best experienced by car, this route includes several pullouts, parks, and points of interest along the way that offer opportunities to get out and explore. Spanning 14 counties in southern Ohio, this byway encompasses the entire length of the Ohio River in Ohio (452 miles); stop-worthy sites include Freedom’s Landing, the Rankin House, and John P. Parker House Museum, a trio of historic places perfect for history buffs.

Cincinnati Nature Center (CNC) is a hidden gem in Clermont County that’s an Edenic paradise of native flora and fauna. Throughout its 1,800 acres (99 of which are old-growth forest!), there are several scenic trails that offer hiking opportunities for all ages and abilities. A new feature that deserves mention: the Ear-nocular. At rst glance, it appears to be a large barrel located just off the Wildflower Trail (near the intersection of Wildflower and Geology Trails), but it’s designed to amplify the subtle sounds of nature. Climb inside and listen to birdsong, rustling leaves, and babbling streams—it’s a lovely place for reflection, mindfulness, and connection to the natural world.

One of the largest and most wellknown state parks in Ohio, East Fork State Park is a 7,480-acre playground for outdoor enthusiasts. Rolling hills blanketed in native flora and a stunning lake make this park exciting to explore in any season, whether it’s by foot, bike, kayak, or even horseback. Best known for hiking, East Fork State Park has the most trails of any Ohio State Park, with routes ranging from a half mile to 33 miles, flat to hilly, beginner to advanced. East Fork also offers access to the Williamsburg to Batavia Hike/Bike Trail, a six-mile route that connects several of Southwest Ohio’s most charming communities and scenic spots.

When Bethel native Steve Newman set off to walk around the world by himself in 1983, he wasn’t trying to win a race or set a record. He just wanted to explore the world and connect with the people in it. After four years, he returned home and completed his journey at Clermont County’s East Fork State Park. Today, the 33-mile loop around the park’s eponymous lake is named the Steve Newman Worldwalker Perimeter Trail. It also happens to be the longest trail system in Ohio’s state parks.
age to Newman, who is now an author and public speaker, you can learn even more about him and his walk with the launch of the Steve Newman Audio Trail. Along the trail, signs will feature QR codes that hikers can scan to hear recordings of Newman reading his letters from his travels, which were published in many newspapers at the time. To make the whole trail more accessible, the signs help break it into 10 regions that correspond with the regions of Newman’s hike. The Steve launched in spring 2026 as part of America 250 celebrations.
Explore all the family fun Cincinnati has to offer along with Clermont County’s marquee attractions and you’ll create a trip even your teenager will remember.
