The Boston College Young Catholic Leaders Program encourages high school students to explore the world around them in the context of their Catholic faith. Developed by Boston College’s Church in the 21st Century Center in consultation with religious educators and University faculty, the program encourages students to grow in leadership and civic engagement, modeling a lived Catholic faith. This monthly, six-part seminar and discussion series is designed for 10th- and 11th-grade students in the Greater Boston area who have been Confirmed in their parishes. Applications from 12th grade students will also be considered for admission to the program, as space permits. The program is free of charge; additionally, students who attend and successfully complete the program will receive a certificate of completion. Sessions will be led by Boston College faculty and staff who will speak to the intersection of faith, Catholic Social Teaching, and their area of academic expertise. Current Boston College undergraduate students will also attend the sessions, serving as mentors to accompany the high school students.
