Academic Director | Senior Counselor Katherine has been a secondary school principal, and responsible for academic advising and placement for over 35+ years. She is one of the best reputed experts in UK and US college counseling, particularly in the IB, AP, and IGCSE Program, a member and alternate delegate of the Overseas National Association of College Admissions Counselors (ONACAC). Has served on accreditation teams for both ECIS/New England States and ECIS/Middle States. Academic & Program Director | Senior Counselor A graduate of the University of Oxford. Head of a NATO Upper School in Germany and the Deputy Head Academic of Chinese International School, Hong Kong. He has had wide experience of academic guidance and pastoral care in both the GCE ‘A’ Level and IB Diploma systems and has been counseling international students on university entrance for over 30 years. Academic & Program Director (International) A multi-lingual teacher: Spanish, English, French, Chinese, Japanese. Sylvia is a Los Angeles native, who at the young age of six began immersing herself in other languages and cultures. She earned her B.A. in Asian Studies from Mount Holyoke College in Western Massachusetts, USA. She went on to receive her M.A. in Bilingual/Bicultural Education from Teachers College, Columbia University in New York City. She ventured to Guatemala, Mexico, France and Japan to participate in homestays all before the age of 18 and these experiences led her to further study languages and cultures at university.
Edmund Aldiss Curriculum Director
His teaching life has been long and somewhat unusual. He began teaching at a reasonably early age and has remained within the profession for the last 30 or so years. During the 1990’s he spent some time teaching in Ethiopia, simply because the opportunity arose. Between stints outside New Zealand, he completed a third degree and took a position as Head of Social Science at the Auckland University of Technology. a position that he loved. However, he was given the opportunity to become the Deputy Principal in an international university preparation college. The school grew from an initial cohort of 160 to around 800 within two years. The excitement of managing growth on this scale was turbulent and stimulating.

Entrepreneurship Entrepreneurs create their Business Plan. They should learn business fundamentals. This is a comprehensive combination of courses, individual coaching and business plan development that is designed to help entrepreneurs develop business skills and attract financing. UK University Visit Programme PGEM is proud to offer its UK University Visit Programme for the summer! Together with our partner, Oxford Study Courses (OSC) we have been running the University Programmes in the UK for over 17 years. The UK University Visit Programmes are led by experienced counselors and students will have the opportunity to hear from and ask questions to the admissions officers at each institution. These are the people who will read application form, so students will be able to find out first-hand just what they are looking for. The UK University Visit Programme will run from Sunday June 29th to Friday July 4th, 2015 with students staying in Oxford University dormitories during the Programme. Students will travel by coach to visit colleges and universities around the UK each day and return to their Oxford accommodations every evening. The programme offers students aged 13 – 18 the opportunity of in-depth learning about London and all the hidden delights of the English capital. The course will be for 2 weeks (6th – 20st July). Students will be accommodated with families, within easy reach of Central London. Each weekday they will travel into Central London, by train, either for morning lessons with experienced and highly-motivated teachers or to proceed directly with that day’s visit. When there are lessons, they will be held in excellent, modern classrooms at Regent’s University, located in London’s Regents Park and will be of varying length according to the nature of that day’s visit. A classroom session will focus on a different aspect of London – The Monarchy, St Pauls Cathedral, Entertainment in London, etc. afterward, students will visit sites related to the topic they have studied in the mornings accompanied by their teacher. This is a unique opportunity to combine seeing London with actually learning in detail from an inspirational expert about the capital’s different attractions and seeing them at first hand!

Morning Lessons Regent’s University Regent’s University is one of the UK’s most respected independent universities and one of the most internationally diverse.
