PREACHING THAT

THREE

KEY PRINCIPLES TO CONSIDER:

Consider these principles to make your message as engaging and impactful as possible for your church.

IDENTITY

ACTION

As we connect the pursuit of God toward us with our call to pursue and care for vulnerable children and families, we want to do so in such a way that we’re not merely churning up more activity or getting people to do more acts of service. Instead, we want to see the gospel transform hearts and minds, to the extent that caring for vulnerable children and families becomes an extension of our identity as the people of God that then translates into action - we care because we have been greatly cared for by Jesus.

We CARE because we have been GREATLY cared for.

Principles

Make it special. Let your message stand out from the norm. Perhaps designate a special Sunday or weekend emphasizing the call to care for vulnerable children and families, along with specific calls to action to get involved with those right there in your church or community. This could even be a full sermon series, emphasizing things like mission, hospitality and the various ways your church wants to make an impact outside of its walls - in your community and around the world.

Pure Religion Sunday is officially on the second Sunday of November. But, you can host it any time throughout the year! Let this Sunday (or weekend) be an important moment in the life of your church, using it as a Leverage Point to inspire and drive action within your congregation.
