Visit Mysore
6:30 am – Breakfast at the hotel. 8:00 am – Check-out from Oakwood Premier Prestige. Drive to Mysore in a luxury Volvo bus (approx. 90 miles/ 3 hours and 30 minutes) enroute drive by the majestic Vidhana Soudha which houses the state legislature of Karnataka, High Court, and National Gallery of Modern Art comprised of paintings, sculptures, graphic prints and examples of early photography in India which showcases the historical development of modern art in India from the 18th century through the present. Stop at the Bull Temple to see the impressive statue of the Nandi Bull, consistently covered with layers of butter and garlands of flowers. Boxed lunches to be served on the bus. Mysore was the political capital of the Wodeyar dynasty that ruled the state of Karnataka for some 150 years until the independence of the country from the British. These kings were great patrons of art and culture and Mysore was the cultural capital of the south under the rule of the Wodeyars. It is often called the Jewel of Karnataka – its arts, culture, buildings, festivals, gardens and parks being the quintessence of the state’s heritage. 3:30 pm – Visit the magnificent Mysore Palace. A former residence of the Wodeyar rulers, the palace is a splendid structure in Indo-Saracenic style with beautiful halls of public & private audience and private chambers of the royal family. It is a veritable treasure trove of exquisite carvings and works of art from the world over (approximate activity duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes). Tipu Sultan's summer palace is now a museum, set in gardens, with a series of murals showing scenes from his military life. He was killed here by the British and both he and his father, Hyder Ali, are buried in the gardens (approximate activity duration: 1 hour).

1911, Edwin Lutyens, the most renowned English architect of the day, was chosen to design New Delhi which flaunts a surprising number of impressive monuments related to its conquests by the Mughals, Turks, Persians and ultimately the British. 8:15 am – Explore Old Delhi, visiting the Jama Masjid, the royal mosque built by the Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan in 1656. It is one of the largest and most beautiful mosques in the world and is constructed of red sandstone and white marble. The main prayer hall has a seating capacity of more than 20,000 worshippers. Enjoy a cycle rickshaw ride through the narrow lanes of Chandni Chowk, the spine of Old Delhi. Jahanara Begum, the daughter of Shah Jahan designed this commercial place in 1648. Drive past Red Fort, built of red sandstone by Shah Jahan in 1648. This magnificent monument is laid out along the river Yamuna as an irregular octagon. Continue to Humayun’s Tomb, the first great example of Mughal architecture in India, it became the hallmark of the Mughal Dynasty. The squat building of white marble and red sandstone, with a dome and high arched entrances, surrounded by formal gardens, is generally regarded as a prototype of the famed Taj Mahal of Agra. Humayun’s wife is buried in the red-and-white sandstone, black-and yellow marble tomb (approximate activity duration: 3 hours and 30 minutes). 1:30 pm – Lunch at The Lodi restaurant, European cuisine. 2:30 pm – Drive to Agra (approx. 124 miles / 3 hour and 30 minute drive). 6:00 pm – Arrive in Aga and check-in at ITC Mughal. 7:30 pm – Dinner at the hotel’s Peshawari restaurant, renowned for its Northwest Frontier cuisine. Visit Taj Mahal
Agra: Two great Mughal monarchs, Akbar and Shah Jahan, transformed the little village of Agra into a befitting second capital of the Mughal Empire - giving it the name Dar-ulKhilafat (seat of the Emperor). Today, a visitor to Agra is caught up in a world of contrasting edifices of red sandstone and white marble, narrow lanes and quaint buggies, and an irresistible charm that this favorite city of the Mughals still retains. 10:30 am – Check out and drive to Agra Fort. An imposing structure with walls of red sandstone, Agra Fort is almost two miles long and contains palaces, audience halls and mosques. The fort represents a good sampling of Islamic and Hindu architectural styles. It was built by the third Mughal Emperor, Akbar. Subsequent additions were made to the fort by his son Jahangir and grandson Shahjahan (approximate activity duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes). 12:30 pm – Drive to Delhi (approx. 134 miles / 4 hours). 4:30 pm – Arrive Delhi, rooms will be reserved at JW Marriott Aerocity until departure to the airport for your homebound flight. Tonight’s dinner at the hotel will be open / own arrangements. Note: Most international flights leave between 2:00 am and 3:00 am local time. Hotel Cancellation policy: Cancellation received 46–60 days prior to departure will be subject to a cancellation charge of 25% of the tour price. Cancellation received 30–45 days prior to departure will be subject to a cancellation charge of 50% of the tour price. Cancellation received 29 or less days prior to departure will be subject to forfeiture of the entire tour price.
