Chris Cain has spent almost thirty years working in long-term care and hospice services As a dedicated and experienced healthcare executive, he has held senior leadership roles in several organizations His experience covers hiring, training, team development, patient and resident quality, financial management, sales and marketing, regulatory compliance, and stabilizing business operations.

As the owner of St Gabriel’s Hospice & Palliative Care and Texas Hospice, he has established more than 12 hospice agencies from the ground up across Texas. He and his team have built a culture based on the idea of “People Caring for People ” The well-trained team focuses not only on symptom management but also on the spiritual and emotional needs of patients nearing the end of life. They provide comprehensive care and support to patients and their families.

Since 2012, Chris’s approach and commitment have helped grow St. Gabriel’s into a 300-patient hospice organization employing over 200 people The agency serves regions such as Fort Worth, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Lubbock, Houston, San Angelo, Corpus Christi, and Tyler. His duties include overseeing the agency’s budget, managing HR and recruiting, developing hiring and termination policies, planning operational and strategic initiatives, and leading all accounting and sales management processes

Before creating and managing St. Gabriel’s Hospice and The Clear Fork Group, he worked as the Regional Director of Operations at Constant Care Family Management In this role, he led four Alzheimer’s care communities across North Texas His responsibilities included financial management, HR, sales, regulatory affairs, and operational oversight. He accomplished important goals, including a 14% census increase in the first quarter, achieving NOI over 90% in three of the four sites, and improving staffing and cost control measures

CEO, Texas Hospice

For five years, he served as CEO of Texas Hospice, a Medicare-certified hospice agency He oversaw all financial, sales, HR, regulatory, and operational functions for the startup Under his leadership, the agency achieved average profit margins in the 20% range, broke even within eight months, expanded from zero to 100 patients, and established locations in San Antonio and Austin

Chris Cain also served as Executive Director at Trinity Hospice and as Area Director of Sales and Marketing at Extendicare. In those positions, he provided direction for 40 long-term care facilities across Indiana and Kentucky. He managed a team of 50 salespeople, assisted by five regional sales managers

His career includes experience at Kindred Healthcare, where he initially worked as a Marketing Representative and later advanced to a Hospital Administrator position As the Hospital Administrator, Chris led all aspects of constructing, implementing, and opening a 34-bed acute care hospital. He guided the facility through the CMS survey to secure licensure, maintained a

census that was double the budgeted expectations each month, and consistently surpassed monthly EBITDARM goals.

In his role as a Marketing Representative, he built strong referral relationships through educational outreach and consistent communication. He developed a respected customer service presence among hospitals, assisted living centers, nursing homes, home health agencies, physicians, and case managers. His efforts resulted in the addition of two new referring hospitals within one year, a 15% increase in referrals over the prior year, and an extensive network of referring physicians in internal medicine, pulmonology, nephrology, surgery, and wound care. He was recognized as the top sales producer for over two quarters.

Earlier On in His Career

Chris Cain, Clear Fork Group, began his healthcare career as Executive Director at Sterling House Corporation in 1998. In that role, he led a 33-bed assisted living community in Oklahoma. He consistently surpassed the budgeted EBITDA every month, relying on relationship-building and cold calling to maintain a 99 5% census at the facility
