Participants on a Challenges Abroad programaretherefore, not only directly impacting the community through their project, but are part of a sustainable community development initiative that will have a long lasting, positive impact.
Peru: Land of the Incas
Peru is a land of ancient Incan ruins, lost civilizations and stunning landscapes. It’s home to part of the Amazon Rainforest and the legendary Machu Picchu - one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
Our programs are located in Urubamba; a small town located in the Sacred Valley.
Days 1-3

A typical project day:
8am - Breakfast
9am - Workshop Planning
12pm - Lunch
1pm - Workshop Delivery
4pm - Cultural Activity

Students will also contribute to Climate Action initiatives by leading community clean-ups and tree-planting!
Our programs are Carbon Neutral, as we work with a certified off-set provider to calculate and neutralise the emissions generated for each student travelling.
Days 8-14 Trek to Machu Picchu!
Students will take on the ultimate adventure with a multi-day trek along the breathtaking Salkantay Trail to Machu Picchu After a dedicated prep day, they’ll journey through soaring mountain passes, glacial valleys and cloud forest. As they approach the iconic Lost City of the Incas, resilience is forged, teamwork becomes essential, and lifelong friendships are built
Days 21-23
Discover Cusco & Departure
To finish their journey on a high, students will explore the vibrant UNESCO-listed city of Cuscodiving into local culture, soaking up its rich history, and celebrating how far they’ve grown The perfect moment to reflect on their Global Citizenship journey and everything they’ve achieved!

As the name suggests, of course there are challenges, but the problemsolving skills and confidence that come out of the experience are unmatched.
We measure the impact of our programs on student participants by evaluating the following 10 key skill areas:
