2026 CITIZENS ACADEMY GRADUATES RECOGNIZED

The Town of Chino Valley proudly recognized the graduates of the 2026 Citizens Academy during the June 23 Town Council Meeting

This year's program began with 16 participants and concluded with 11 graduates who completed the six-week academy Throughout the program, participants received a behind-the-scenes look at the many services and operations that keep our community running. From public safety and public works to development services, parks and recreation, and Town leadership, each session highlighted the employees and departments dedicated to serving Chino Valley every day.

The Citizens Academy continues to strengthen the connection between local government and the community by providing residents with a greater understanding of Town operations while encouraging civic engagement

Congratulations to our 2026 graduates, and thank you to the employees who shared their time, knowledge, and passion throughout the program Your efforts continue to make the Citizens Academy a valuable and rewarding experience

FINANCE

TRANSACTION PRIVILEGE TAX (TPT)

The transaction privilege tax (TPT) data is reported with a two-month lag For example, although this is the June update, the most recent data available is for April The April column on the chart reflects TPT activity that occurred in April and was due to ADOR in May During May and June, the data becomes available to the Town, and the Town receives its share of the TPT revenue

Through year-to-date, FY 2025–26 TPT collections total $10,238,354, exceeding the budgeted amount of $9,068,853 by $1,169,501 Additionally, collections are $401,228 more than those recorded at the same point last year This is primarily attributed to increased construction and speculative builder activity

STATE-SHARED REVENUES

State-shared revenue includes Urban Revenue Sharing (income tax), State-Shared Sales Tax, Vehicle License Tax, and Highway User Revenue The year-to-date budget is $7,333,155, compared to actual revenues of $7,219,442 The budget is allocated based on the percentage of total revenues received in each month of the prior year To date, revenues are $18,018 below budget and $113,713 lower than at the same point last year The final State-shared revenues will be received in July for FY 2025-26
