A MESSAGE FROM THE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR I love Peter Pan! I love that it’s a story centered on a boy who wouldn’t grow up. In the original tale, Pan arrives at a home in London and whisks the Darling children away to embark on extraordinary adventures in Neverland. When Children’s Theatre of Charlotte produced the show several years ago, we created a Sensory-Friendly performance of that production. That meant selecting one performance during the run of the show and adapting elements of it to be more welcoming and comfortable for children and families with sensory sensitivities. Children’s Theatre of Charlotte has been deeply committed to this vital work since 2016, offering sensory-friendly options for every production in our season. We believe wholeheartedly in making live theatre accessible to everyone. Therefore, when Caleb Sigmon approached us to partner with Sigmon Theatrical on a project designed to go deeper and be even more intentional for this audience, we jumped at the opportunity. I am thrilled to continue our collaboration with Sigmon Theatrical in bringing PETER PAN’S NEVERLAND ADVENTURE to life! I am also tremendously proud that the City of Charlotte is supporting the creation of this work through the Creative Growth grant. For the past decade, our approach to sensory-friendly programming involved modifying existing productions that were not originally built with this specific audience in mind. This production represents a transformative step in the opposite direction. It marks our foray into creating an experience built entirely from the ground up—not reverse-engineered or modified, but thoughtfully crafted from day one specifically to serve the sensory and accessibility needs of our young audience members and their families. We are also deeply grateful for our valued partnership with Julie Higginbotham of Precious Developments, whose expertise and guidance as our consultant have been instrumental in shaping our sensory-friendly initiatives. We are so happy you have joined us for this magical journey into Neverland. Get ready for music, silly pirates, enchanting magic, whimsical puppets, and pure theatrical awe, guaranteed to capture the timeless spirit of “Never Growing Up!”

CAST CALEB SIGMON
CALEB SIGMON grew up playing in cardboard boxes and putting on make-believe shows - now, it’s what he gets to do for a living! He’s performed in dozens of shows at Children’s Theatre of Charlotte over the last 15 years, including DR. SEUSS’ THE CAT IN THE HAT (Cat), DOGGIE ON MY DOORSTEP: A HOLIDAY TAIL (Old Man), MATILDA THE MUSICAL (Mr. Wormwood), MARY POPPINS (Bert), and many more! Alongside his wife, Katy, he operates SIGMON THEATRICAL, an interactive and immersive production company. Projects include touring shows (Dragon Quest, Dino Roar Live!, Color Circus), immersive productions (The Wonderland Experience, The Sleepy Hollow Adventure, DreamWorks Adventure to Santa), and festivals (Carolina Pumpkin Spelltacular, Winterfest), along with dozens of educational touring productions. Sigmon Theatrical designs and produces bespoke stage shows and live entertainment for large-scale festivals, parades, and events across the Southeast, with credits including performing annually at The Vision Awards, producing the televised opening number for the Novant Health Thanksgiving Eve Parade, and creating both a children’s show called Tales of Freedom and a stage spectacle called SKYWARD: The Story of America for America’s 250th celebration. Caleb and Katy have also presented a series of workshops and masterclasses in conjunction with the North American Tour of Disney’s The Lion King. Recently, they created an original production called ÉPICO that toured across 12 cities in Mexico! Together, Caleb and Katy are proud to call the Carolinas home, where they live in a house jam-packed with magic tricks, costumes, 6

CAST KATY SIGMON
KATY SIGMON is so honored to be a part of creating this special new work. A long time lover of movement art and sensory experiences, she is beyond thrilled to help bring something new to audiences at Children’s Theatre of Charlotte, where she has been a designer and technician for over 10 years now. For Katy, the heart of this work is a marriage of accessibility and magic, which children of all ages and needs should be welcome to experience as we create immersive, interactive art. This magic is made for you, whoever you may be. Recent Credits include: Costume Design for A SICK DAY FOR AMOS MCGEE, DR. SEUSS’ THE CAT IN THE HAT, DANNY, KING OF THE BASEMENT, and the upcoming tour of IF YOU GIVE A MOUSE A COOKIE with Children’s Theatre of Charlotte, A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD and THE UGLY DUCKLING (Jim Henson Award Winner) with the North Carolina Theatre for Young People. Wig & Makeup Design/Artist at Ghost Train Halloween Festival, The Carolina Pumpkin Spelltacular, and Carl White’s Life in the Carolinas. She is Co-Founder and Production Designer of Sigmon Theatrical, Co-Founder of Giggle Box Circus, and full-time mama to Levi and Charlie.

CAST SCOTT STOVER
SCOTT STOVER is a year-round entertainer. He has performed in Scarowinds and Winterfest at Carowinds, performed at The Carolina Theater, and at the Children’s Theatre of Charlotte in partnership with Sigmon Theatrical. Most recently, Scott traveled with Sigmon Theatrical to Mexico in their production of ÉPICO.

CAST DESTINEY WOLFE
DESTINEY WOLFE is a performer, choreographer, director, and teaching artist. A graduate of Appalachian State University with a degree in Theatre and a minor in Dance, her recent credits include THE LAST FIVE YEARS, EVITA, and serving as Dance Captain for ROCK OF AGES. She is beyond excited to make her Children’s Theatre of Charlotte debut in this special collaboration with Sigmon Theatrical and is especially honored to be part of a production that makes live theatre more welcoming and accessible for so many families. She hopes this performance brings a little extra magic to everyone who experiences it!

CAST PJ BARNES
PJ BARNES is a local actor in Charlotte who has been honing his craft for the past 25 years! Whether it’s on the stage, or in front of the camera PJ has enjoyed creating characters & bringing them to life. A theatre Grad of UNCW, PJ has focused most of his post grad work on teaching & choreographing children’s theatre, while producing films & sketch comedy with his film company. Over the past 4 years, PJ has returned to the stage, hasn’t looked back. He looks forward to this performance! He dedicates everything to his wife, Jasmin, & his 3 kids, Duke, Barry, & Rose-Marie.

CAST DIANA MANSFIELD
DIANA MANSFIELD is so excited to be a part of this whimsical, onstage world. Previous credits include Rosa Bud in THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD, Kate Murphey in TITANIC, Anna in FROZEN, Jacqueline de Severac in MURDER ON THE NILE, Sister Mary Lazarus in SISTER ACT, Jojo in SEUSSICAL, Cherry Valance in THE OUTSIDERS, Red Riding Hood in INTO THE WOODS, and a performer with Sigmon Theatrical for over a decade. When she’s not creating theatre magic, you’ll find Diana reading, amateurly playing video games, travelling, and chilling with her feline son, Cricket. Big thanks to her parents, Walter and Lesley, and her boyfriend, Tristan, for their constant love and support.

CAST JOSHUA PETERSON
JOSHUA PETERSON is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, School of Performing Arts. He has worked as an actor, performer, and educator in the Charlotte area since 2019 for many of the wonderful theatres and companies this city has to offer. He is thrilled to appear on stage here again for the third time, previously as Ensemble in Sigmon Theatrical’s THEATRE OF ILLUSION, and as the Bumble Puppeteer in RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER. He thanks Children’s Theatre of Charlotte for the opportunities it provides to local artists, and the many patrons of the arts who come to enjoy live theatre.

Every sensory-friendly performance includes a parent and child guide to help prepare for the experience, reduced-capacity seating so you can move around the theatre as needed, and a team trained to meet you where you are so everyone can enjoy the show comfortably. School of Theatre Training
Student explores theatre concepts presented for their age using music, games, and crafts. There are no scripts or memorization.
School of Theatre Training (SOTT) offers students a multiweek program studying the skills and techniques of theatre.
Creative Drama classes are great for building confidence and learning important social skills.
Classes vary by age level, guaranteeing we can meet students “right where they are” in their development.
