Welcome to the Ipsen Cattle Company’s 13th annual Online production sale. It was very dry this summer with a very nice fall. Suddenly mid-November hit and this area has never seen it so muddy. I have greater appreciation for our friends that endure this each year. Again, however I must say: WE HAVE BEEN BLESSED.

INTERNET SPEEDS AND RELIABILITY VARY IN ALL AREAS AND WITH ALL DEVICES. IPSEN CATTLE OR RanchHQ WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INTERNET ISSUES OR INTERUPTIONS. PLEASE REFRESH YOUR DEVICES OFTEN DURING THE SALE.

First-season breeding guarantee on all bulls. The first breeding season is defined as 90 days from the first turnout. All bulls are guaranteed against injury that would keep them from being a breeder for the first breeding season. If a problem occurs, contact us immediately. A suitable replacement (if available) will be provided, OR a credit of 50% of the purchase price minus salvage value will be given at next year’s sale. This guarantee does not cover the death of the bull or any treatable condition, such as foot rot, pinkeye, etc. All claims must be made by September 1, 2026. This guarantee ends as of September 1, 2026. We assume no liability, legal or otherwise, to make further compensation to the buyer. No other warranty of any nature is expressed or implied. All injuries must be diagnosed by a certified veterinarian. We will not be responsible for breeding soundness after the first breeding season.

We are excited to have RanchHQ as our sale platform. Please look over it prior to sale time to get used to how things run. Get signed up early so you are ready come sale time. Be familiar with all the sale/delivery terms and remember we are always here to help or to show the cattle at your convenience. If you encounter any problems please call, I know the IT man very well at RanhHQ.

You can run the wheels off your truck and be away from the calving barn all you want but you won’t find any better bulls than here. We offer fall bulls that have been developed slowly and under sound feeding principles (no hot feed just to brag on their gain). We do this for the well-being and longevity of the animal, and we believe a fall bull will run circles around all the spring yearling bulls that are being offered for sale. I know you will easily get more bull for the amount paid at this sale than anywhere you look. With help of Kenzie Nelson, we feel the health and longevity of these bulls is better than it has ever been.

Herd Health is excellent and under the care of Dr. Daniel Erickson. Individual Health Papers will be provided for shipment anywhere in the United States.

Logan has again helped us as an eye in the field as he sees more bulls and sire groups than anyone we know. His keen eye and ability to assess good cattle gives us a huge advantage in our sire selection. We are always looking for genetics to increase the value of our bulls for our buyers. At the end of the day, after they have been Measured, Tested, Weighed, and Sifted, we offer them to you.

All Bulls will be semen tested and will have passed a breeding soundness evaluation 30 days prior to the sale. They will also be BVD tested neg, Tric Tested, parent verified, as much as possible, and have genomically enhanced EPD’s. Bulls selling will be virgin bulls unless otherwise stated in the footnotes.

Females will be preg tested by a certified veterinarian. Heifers sell safe in calf with no further guarantee or will be noted in RanchHQ as being open. Please watch those footnotes for all last-minute additions as to the pregnancy or status of each lot.

Registration certificates will be transferred to the buyer at the seller’s expense. Please let us know specific transfer instructions; preferably association-issued breeder numbers if possible. Females that carry calves from sires that are not owned by Ipsen Cattle Company will not be furnished AI certificates on resulting calves.

We will deliver free of charge to your ranch or a place acceptable to buyers within a 300-mile radius of our ranch. For all other deliveries outside that 300-mile radius, we will do all we can to get them to a central location or will meet your truck to make delivery as easy as possible and at an actual cost of delivery. Delivery will start as soon after the sale as we can put loads together. Some states require additional or different tests than Idaho. We will start these tests the day after the sale and will care for animals free of charge until we can get all requirements met to make delivery on your purchased animal.

We must take this time to say thank you to the Two Vets that work with our herd, Dr. Erickson and Dr. Lott. To friends and neighbors, who we have called on for help, especially the crew helping with pictures and videos. We feel so fortunate to have what we believe to be one of the BEST livestock photographers in this area willing to put together all our videos and pictures. Thanks so much Katie.

Most of the cattle selling have been fully parent verified, EPD’s genomically enhanced and all bulls have been PAP tested to give you the highest level of predictability possible. Pay attention to the footnotes in RanchHQ. These will take precedence over all printed material. It will act similar to announcements made over the auction block in a live sale. If you have questions, please call-in advance.

BULL BUYERS: Pap testing has been the “in thing” lately and many breeders are doing it. We follow the advice of Dr. Holt on all procedures. Don’t be fooled by results where procedure is not followed. This is our 9th year of testing. We believe in the scores and have trust in Dr. Lott. If you have questions please ask. Refer to the PAP chart in the catalog to determine the right PAP score range for your operation.

HEIFER BUYERS. Take a good look at the heifers offered this year. The quality is phenomenal again. Every heifer in the sale is quality enough to go into a registered program. Take advantage here. Preg test results will be in the footnotes on RanchHQ. Please look for them if you are buying heifers.

Thank you for your support in the past and we look forward to continuing to earn your trust in the future. For those that may be new to us please feel free to call anytime. We are grateful to have made so many friends in this business. Please join us on sale day for a tri-tip lunch if possible.

Specialty Highlights

The Targeting the Brand logo is designed to highlight registered Angus bulls with greater genetic potential to produce calves meeting the most challenging specifications of the Certified Angus Beef brand. Bulls must meet genetic requirements of +0.65 Marbling EPD and +55 Dollar Grid ($G) to qualify.

Ipsen cattle has been measuring and selecting for maternal excellence in the three breeds that we produce. The Hereford breed introduced it many years ago and see the benefits it has produced. The program, regardless of the breed, is designed to capture additional reproductive trait data and ultimately expand reproductive productivity in the herd.

By submitting all our data and driving ourselves to study more economically relevant traits in our herd, we are able to offer data that is transparent to our customers and allows them to rely on the data produced by the associations based on maternal genetics. Our dedication to our cow herd is second to none. It has been a commitment to account for every female in the herd, one in which has paid of for us and we feel will pay for our customers as well.

Genomics: Don’t just take our word for it

Now producers can make more rapid genetic progress than ever before with genomic-enhanced expected progeny differences (GE-EPDs). Genetic evaluation also means commercial producers of registered cattle can make selection decisions with increased confidence in the accuracy of genetic predictions and assured Parent verification.

All lots have GE-EPD profiles.

Cash Only is the real deal. Use him to sire steers that mash the scales on sale day and smile all the way to the bank. This group of bulls from 2 year old heifers AI’d to Craftsman have been very well received by those who have been by to look at them. Big footed, powerful, made with his thickness and depth of body, spring of rib and the ability to travel on sound feet and legs. Although his strengths are as a terminal sire I tend to believe with his dam being of the Finks Miss family his daughters could be outstanding replacements as well!!!

SLEEP ALL NIGHT CALVING EASE, MATERNAL. LOW RISK PAP SCORE

Put 4024 out with your heifers and enjoy a full night of sleep next spring. He has the right figures & gentics to back that up. A solid Craftsman son crossed on a 6 year old Tehama Tahoe daughter. Great udders, feet and easy keeping kind of cattle with this package. Take a hard look at this rock star and “Hit Away”. He is a very active bull that is easy to be around. Having all the right pieces and parts makes him a wise choice.

You will love the body shape, dimension and power as an individual - stands on a good foundation with a body type that is solid as a rock. He checks nearly every box as a foundation to a cowherd - spread, growth and Docility bull with a top 5% $Maternal index. Reality has unique growth and performance coupled with mature size kept in check.

MISS GD 105Y

We only have a couple of these Reality sons. I used him on my larger framed cows to moderate frame score on some of my bigger cows. I caused the floppy ear at birth when tagging him. DO NOT hold that against this power house of a bull. He just keeps getting better everyday. Figures to rest well next spring calving heifers or size and power to go straight to the cow herd. His dam is a producer of big stout bulls and power house females. I wish I had a pasture full of them. Don’t be afraid to show your calf buyer his carcass merit.

Your heifers should be your best genetics. Take Big Iron to the heifer pasture and make some replacements to keep you in the business for years. Follow up with your mature cows and do the same. Look at his Maternal numbers: Milk, Docility, $M and PAP all in the top 20% of the breed. Reality females are some of the most sought after in the country. There is a reason for this. Look this bull up and get some stars on him and hunker down on sale day. You will be glad you did. As I was told many years ago “a good bull has to look like a good bull”.

Cowboy is a thick made bull in a moderate package. He has lots of middle capacity and thickness in his rear quarter and in his loin. We recommend running this bull in mid elevation not to exceed 7500’. 5613 has a great disposition and is another bull to be used to sire heavy weight market calves or yearlings.

Two step is an all around bull with lots of length and balance. Coming from the SAV Bismark line you can expect great udders, good mothering and high fertility from this bull. With great PAP scores plan on using him at any elevation. I like his body type, the nice angus features we have come to expect from good doing cattle. Coming from generations of tight and well attached udders I would suggest keeping lots of his

SLEEP ALL NIGHT CALVING EASE, HIGH MATERNAL

Use Black Cat in the heifer pen for sleep all night calving ease. He will help maintain performance on those lower birth weight calves too. His Maternal numbers are breed leading and can be used to your advantage. He did come in with a High PAP score so this bull should be used at lower elevations to be safe.

JW 1857 Merit 21134

#44212986

Merit 21134 is a “no-holes” performance sire with one of the most impressive and balanced EPD profiles in the entire Hereford breed. Sired by JW X651 Tested 1857 ET, Merit is a power bull to use on cows to add elite levels of growth, maternal value, and carcass quality. He is a true multi-trait leader, ranking in the top 1% of the breed for Weaning Weight, Yearling Weight, Milk & Growth, Carcass Weight, Marbling, and the CHB$ index. It is incredibly rare for a sire to possess this level of dominance across growth, maternal, and carcass traits simultaneously. He is a herd-changing sire capable of producing high-performing sons and valuable, maternally excellent daughters.

432 is a heifer that is going to be a solid producer with an exceptional udder and good milk flow. Her dam has been one of our good bull producing females and has one of our really good bull calves on her this fall. She is carrying the service of one of the most widely used Angus bulls. She could be the sleeper in this section of the sale.

AI’d 11/14/25 to Raven Republic 1564 (20143727)

434 has been a hard one for me to put in the sale. She will be considered a work horse type cow when she matures. Her dam has been and continues to be one of my favorites in the herd. This good Finks Pride female exhibits style and balance with the projection she will have a tidy udder with great milk flow. She has an attractive and pretty front 1/3 and a middle section that has all the capacity to make a good angus producing cow.

The fact that 435 is a Donna cow gives me all the confidence she will become a really good cow for her new owner. She blends into the group maybe a bit more than the other heifers we are offering but none the less she will be a very nice producing cow. Her dam has produced several of our higher selling bulls over the years and I believe this heifer will follow in her footsteps.

Not very often do I put Red Hereford heifers in the sale. We had way more heifers born last year than we normally do so I picked one that would make a very good brood cow for her new owner. If you run registered Hereford, Black Herefords or are just interested in her as a commercial, 401 is going to make a very good herd matron for her new owner. She is an own daughter of the fancy and well used Makers Mark bull that is still demanding attention in Hereford circles. Her dam is a daughter of the highly sought after NJW 79Z Z311 Endure 173D ET. Look at her Baldy Maker projection (Top 4%). She will work in any environment you put her in. She is Homozygous polled by pedigree. Black Hereford breeders she is already in the Digital Beef system and has GE-EPD’s there. What an opportunity presented here.

We start off this group of Black Hereford females with a rock star. She is out of our good Blazer Farms H022 cow that we picked up from their sale a few years ago. The 124T cow needs no introduction in the Black Hereford world, a true mover and shaker. We used Full Power to bring her frame score and mature size back into line a bit. I believe we must put some of our best females in the sale every year so here she is for your benefit. I have a saying “it all starts with a good cow”. All the good ones come from good cows and this heifer will be among those good ones. Put some stars on this very good female.

83% BH, Fully Parent Verified, Hetro Black/Hetro Polled 419 could be the sleeper of the females. She is an attractive, solid made heifer that has all the upside a person would want in a Black Hereford heifer. Her dam was another cow I picked up from Blazer Farms. Research her pedigree and look at all the good animals that are in the Breed right now from the 1707 cow. 419 is sired by the very popular and good One Night Stand, the 2022 reigning national champion bull.

72.968% BH, Fully Parent Verified, Homo Black (by pedigree) /Homo Polled Of the Black Hereford heifers in the sale this year 427 hurts me the most letting her go but on the other hand excites me the most seeing her go into a new herd to see the good that she will do. Calving ease numbers from one of the Breed leading Calving Ease bulls. Actual performance data that tells us she is legit with Docility, Stayability and All Purpose Index numbers that will keep you in the cattle business for the long haul. I usually keep the females going back to our 920 cows but due to an abundance of females this year, take advantage of a really special opportunity put in front of you.

I have had my eye on 425 for some time now. She is really starting to hit her stride in looking to me to be a very good brood cow. Her sire is a breed leader for CED and BW. On the bottom side of the pedigree you find some of the Hereford greats: Sensation, About Time and Advance S109. When you see the following two cows from the Hereford breed: Chuchill Lady 7202 and NJW Ladysport Dew 78P take notice. How else can this Heifer not be a home run purchase for you. She will get to be a big cow and will follow the production records she posted for herself. Her calf will be Polled!!!

What a fancy young lady out of one of our really good Angus heifers. She has the EPD projections to be able to work with in making the next great bull. Superior udder quality in the Angus cow family with great milk flow. Her dam goes back to our 779 Donor cow we got from Finks Beef Genetics in Kansas. Dante is a superior calving ease Red Hereford bull that we use on occasion. He is a son of Sweet Red Wine, who is one of the three best Red Hereford cows in the breed. This gal has caught my eye from birth and we offer you some of our best breeding.

What our customers say...

“ We have been getting calves out of that Altuve bull (BH 2024 sale) and those things have hit the ground running and they are as solid as you can make a HB calf. They have been incredibly consistent and vigorous! Thanks for doing right for the breed lining these genetics up! ”

F1, Fully Parent Verified, GE ENHANCED EPD’s, Hetro Black/Hetro Polled

I have left this heifer for the last lot on purpose. One of the few F1 females in the breed to be fully parent verified and have GE-EPD’s. If this were a live auction one of my favorite auctioneers would be saying: “Gird your loins Cattlemen and come to the auction”! With that said, here is one that will be well known in this breed for sometime to come. She is sired by one of my favorite Angus bulls going back to SAV and Finks breeding. Gunner, a Universal Semen Sales bull, has produced some very good Angus females that stay in the herd for years, bringing in some of the best calves for us and our partners. Lots of stars by this one and watch close during the sale.
