Don’t get a criminal record this Christmas!
GLOUCESTERSHIRE Constabulary has joined police forces across the country in launching the annual Christmas campaign aimed at reducing deaths and serious injuries caused by drink and drug driving this festive season. Operation Limit aims to educate drivers about the dangers and consequences they could face by getting behind the wheel after consuming alcohol and/or drugs.
The campaign was launched on Monday 1 December and will run until Thursday 1 January to ensure
that motorists are enjoying the festive period while driving in a safe and legal way. Drink and drug driving is one of the main contributors in collisions and is one of the fatal five driving offences, alongside careless driving, not wearing a seat belt, excessive speed, and using a mobile phone whilst behind the wheel.

A FORMER police officer who tried to gain entry into a nightclub by showing her police warrant card and claiming to be on an operation has been barred from policing. PC Hannah Cooling attempted to persuade the door staff of a Cheltenham nightclub to allow her into the venue in the early hours of Sunday, 23 February. The nightclub informed police and when officers approached her, she denied what had happened. The Professional Standards Department subsequently investigated and an accelerated misconduct hearing took place at Police Headquarters on Friday 28th November, in front of Assistant Chief Constable Arman Mathieson. PC Cooling was found to have breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour relating to Authority, Respect and Courtesy; Discreditable Conduct and Honesty and Integrity. PC Cooling resigned before the hearing took place, however she would have been dismissed without notice had she still been a serving officer. Her name will now be added to the Police Barred List. Deputy Chief Constable Katy Barrow Grint said: “While offduty, PC Cooling attempted to abuse her position as a police officer to gain entry into a nightclub. She then lied about her actions when questioned by officers. This is a clear breach of the College of Policing’s Standards of Professional Behaviour which every officer must adhere to.”
