Sixty-five contest Kingston’s 11 wards Cameron McCullough cameron@baysidenews.com.au THE nomination period for candidates in the 2024 Kingston City Council election has now closed with a huge 65 candidates contesting the 11 wards. Of the candidates, six current councillors (Crs Davey-Burns, Davies, Hill Saab, Oxley and Eden) have thrown their hats in the ring to serve another four-year term. Four current councillors (Crs Howe, Hua, Cochrane and Bearsley) have decided

not to stand again. In Banksia Ward, four candidates are seeking election: Rosemary Parrant, Kalina Murday, Heather Smith and Chris Howe. In Bunjil Ward, two candidates are seeking election: Tony Athanasopoulos and Nikki Kaur. In Caruana Ward, nine candidates are seeking election: Caroline White, Rizwan Nasir, Joe Crupi, Gandhi Bevinakoppa, Michael Carty, Natan Raykhtin-Breitenfeld, Sav Peulich, Shannon Hughes and Eric Lee. In Chicquita Ward, ten candidates

are seeking election: Jane Agirtan, Wandzia French, Anna Ricciuti, Tracey Davies, Lina Pistone, Jayden McKay, Emma Doble, Rosemary West, Ian Baldock and Lachlan McDonald. In Como Ward, five candidates are seeking election: David Beckett, Ya Ge Xu, Chris Hill, Victoria Oxley and Brendan Lenarcic. In Karkarook Ward, four candidates are seeking election: Lauren Stevenson, Jono Ling, Hadi Saab and Shiva Ambadgatti. In Longbeach Ward, six candidates

are seeking election: Bronwyn Currie, Samara Dixon, David Walker, Luke Gilling, Rohan Parrant and Georgina Oxley. In Melaleuca Ward, six candidates are seeking election: Jack Cassidy, Tess Law, Martin Shield, Declan Dubout, Gavin Nolan and Louise Black. In Sandpiper Ward, four candidates are seeking election: Kirralee Ashworth-Collett, Abraham Jesus Garcia, Graham Fountain and Kealey Nutt. In Wattle Ward, seven candidates

are seeking election: Geoff Woods, Trent Pirihi, Georgia Erevnidis, Jenna Davey-Burns, Amiriya Dorian, Nadica Visic and Aldo Comazzetto. In Yammerbook Ward, eight candidates are seeking election: David Eden, Tony Firman, Sarah O’Donnell, Susanna Moore, Mellissa Glanville, Daniel Loza, Mark Tarulli and Greg McMahon. Ballot pack mail outs begin on 7 October with voting closing at 6pm on Friday 25 October. The election results will be declared on Friday 15 November.
