All eyes will be on the USA when the 23rd FIFA World Cup begins in June. The finest footballing talent on the planet will be on show in stadiums across the US, Mexico and Canada, with eight matches at the SoFi Stadium near Los Angeles International Airport.
If you’ve never visited LA, this would be a great time to go. Even if you can’t get a match ticket, you can watch the action at one of the city’s celebrated sports bars, such as Barney’s Beanery and The Nickel Mine. And between games you can visit iconic beaches like Santa Monica, Venice and Malibu, or take a hike to the Griffith Observatory for great views of the famous Hollywood sign.
Art lovers are in for a treat too. World-class museums like the Getty and LACMA showcase famous works, while up-and-coming artists can be discovered in contemporary galleries throughout the city’s Arts District.
If movies are more your thing, book a studio tour at Warner Bros or watch the latest releases at the world famous TCL Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard. As you come out, see how many Brits you can spot among the star names embedded in the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
