The Crossing: Voices Unbound

FORTY YEARS OF SERVICE

Years of uninterrupted service to Washington's college-bound students.

Forty seven years. One school.

Thousands of crossings.

Since 1979, MCIP has served as the community school partner at Bell Multicultural High School, helping students gain admission, persist in college, and graduate with the support systems they deserve.

Who We Are

Multicultural Career Intern Program is a Washington, D.C.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit and the community school partner at Columbia Heights Educational Campus (CHEC).

For more than forty years, MCIP has dismantled systemic barriers to higher education — helping students not only get in, but stay in college, graduate, and step into the futures they have earned.

La Maison Française

A home for French-American cultural exchange.

At the Embassy of France in Washington, La Maison Française is a landmark venue for cultural exchange and worthy causes. For MCIP and Columbia Heights Educational Campus, it is a fitting partner for The Crossing - a gala shaped by multilingual students and global belonging.

FRANCOPHONE ROOTS

Many CHEC students come from Francophone countries.

LANGUAGE AT CHEC

After English and Spanish, French is the third most spoken language at the school.
