LABYRINTHINE CONFECTION

Project description:

Labyrinthine confection’s concept centres around the collaboration between Cacao distribution and Fairtrade as well as the working conditions surrounding different branches of Fairtrade, the building itself is to represent a journey between each key space to understand how chocolate is made and the importance of Fairtrade in the industry. The main products produced and sold include fusion chocolates that use fresh fruits and coffee from other Fairtrade producing countries that either are international and have similar working conditions or native to the UK with vastly different working conditions. Circulation and ease of movement throughout the building especially between floors is continuously apparent thro8ugh the use of ramps as opposed to stairs, making the building completely accessible to all people.

MARSHMALLOW ANTHEA

Project description:

Marshmalllow Anthea is a creative project that was split into two phases. Phase 1 centred around desinging a small temperary food stop for the people of Reading to promote living in the marshes, Marshamllow Anthea’s language was completely vertical wiht the column grid being the central point that is maintained through the phases this phase also uses organic forms to contrats with the strong linear vertical column grid. Phase 2 is a community centre in the marshes with adjoining accomodation and follows phase 1 wherein the colum grid is the foundation of the design concept and organic form is retained in the spaces of the design, but unlike in phase 1 asymetrical layers are utalised throughout the design.

THE OPTIMUM

Project description:

The optimum’s concept was centred around a garment of clothing (mittens) that would be used to design a fashion studio. When looking into how mittens can be translated architecturally the sense of warmth and heat transfer became the inspiration for this design. The design then used thermal comfort as its main idea with materiality corresponding with the optimum intenal temperatures. Materiality and the positioning of the spaces created an interesting, unconventional design that matches the Harringey fashion district which is the site of this design.
