שבת קודש פרשת עקב
My Kleineh Hasogos What a week! Shabbos had a Shmyonke with deaf and blind people. Sunday we had our very own choir and acrobats, as well as a magic show. It was so good that even the parents came to camp to watch. Monday was the grand staff play. It was 100% perfect, the music, storyline, suspense, drama, comedy, props, backdrops and acting. Totally out of this world! Tuesday we had a
brother night, which went down in history as the wackiest ever! Wednesday we were all surprised when we got a Bivouac for triple points! Who would've thunkinated it! What surprised us even more, was that we went paintball shooting, and no one went to the hospital! After eating as many hot dogs as we wanted, and drinking as much soda as we
wanted, our stomachs were kind of feeling funny, so on Thursday we had burping night. On Friday each division had a grand All-star game, with each player voted in. There were more stars by the all-star game than the bivouac. Gut Shabbos!
Minhogim for a camp bivouac 1) Make sure everything is arranged in the last minute. 2) Fit all campers in one small room, so that they’ll appreciate the fresh air outside although it’s raining. 3) Make sure campers have a chance to be creative by giving them free time.
4) Ensure that the rain is not wet. 5) Shout at campers for watching the paintball shooting game. 6) Have the director come so that something actually happens. 7) Make staff feel important by only letting them roast marshmallows.

Space in “Varf avek dein pusten yichus a mentch darf men zain”, visit your local orthodox Rabbi for the correct accurate translation. But this is a song which basically implies that our purpose in the world isn't serving ourselves, rather serving Hashem. Imagine, a father disappears from his son. In the beginning the son is defiantly going crazy, and looking all over for his father. But afterwards a son might grow used to the situation and lose focus, - turn to other more exciting ways to busy himself. But then there is the other son, who cannot rest until his father is found.
Our Parsha is named Eikev, which Rashi explains to mean “A heel”. A heel reminds us of a lot of Jewish and Chasidic concepts. Namely “Ikvisa Demishicha”, the “heel of Moshiach”. Basically the fact that our generation is the generation that will witness the coming of Moshiach. As the Rebbe said many times, that our generation is the last of Golus and the first of Geula.
Same thing is with us, we are just a bunch of nothings. Compared to all the generations before us, who were people that knew and felt Hashem, we are literally a heel.
What’s the connection to a heel? The connection is that a heel is the lowest part of the body. While the eye sees, the nose smells, the mouth tastes, hands write, and feet run. The heel sees and feels nothing, it’s just a Golem!
We are acting like the midget, when we don’t forget our father. When we search the Rebbe out in all that we do. Everything we do is in order for us to be able to see the Rebbe once more!
This week we asked the following question to 1414 random campers and here are the results:
How often do prices in canteen change? 57% Only when they have the product in stock 58% I don’t know, it’s not open 72% What is canteen?
3) The fire.
Well even if you didn’t, the team at OTU did. They have conducted a research and came up with many possible reasons.
5) The campers.
1) The rain.
After putting the sleeping bags through these seven steps, the researchers spread the sleeping
2) The grass.
4) The BBQ. 6) The staff members. 7) The Frenchies.
1) Thumbs up for Bivouacs 2) What to do when your sleeping bag smells
But like a big giant who cannot reach the top of the tree, without the help of the little midget. The previous generations need us to finish off their Avoida, and bring Moshiach now!
Most repeated song of the week: (Harachaman Hu Yishlach Lanu Es Eliyahu Hanovi Zachur Latov Vivaser Lanu B’soros Tovos Yeshuos Venechamos) Badaba Bada Badaba Badaba Bada Badaba Badaba Bada, Badaba Bada Babada Badabada Hey!
Science for Oholei-Torah’nicks Did you ever wonder why a sleeping bag comes back smelly?
Explanations:
bags out and refuted the first six reasons, being that the sleeping bags aired out under the same conditions in camp. Before coming to the conclusion that it must be reason number seven, the researchers were attacked by paintballs and were unable to sit down and say so.
3) There was only one thing left to eat 4) Man down after being shot by paintball
