The Board of Trustees are pleased to update that we have successfully recruited into two of our key posts of the new Senior Management Team - Steve Adams as our new Chief Executive Officer and Sam Willis as our Home Manager (CQC Registered Manager) Steve brings a unique blend of leadership and operational expertise to our organisation. His background in managing complex organisations and diverse teams will be invaluable as we continue to provide exceptional care to our residents. Steve will work closely with the Board of Trustees, developing our organisation’s long term strategy and business plan, and he will oversee the overall operational management and support our fundraising strategy. Steve will serve as a key point of contact between our staff and the Board of Trustees. His focus will be on enhancing the quality of care we provide, strengthening our community partnerships, and ensuring the longterm sustainability of our organisation. Sam, our previous deputy manager, already has a deep understanding of our care home and the needs of our elderly residents. Her extensive knowledge of best practice in care will ensure that our residents continue to receive the highest quality care and support. Sam is passionate about person-centred care and is committed to creating a warm and welcoming environment for all our residents. She will manage the day-to-day operations of the care home, maintain our strong values and will bring a fresh perspective and innovative ideas to her new role. We continue to search for a new Deputy Manager to replace Sam, however in the interim, Angela Chisholm has agreed to continue as Clinical Lead giving us the professional clinical input required for our home.

Message from the Chair, Board of Trustees “It is great to see Charlotte Straker grow from strength to strength, even in these challenging times. This has only been made possible as a result of the fantastic staff we have, our great residents and their families, the volunteers and our supportive community. It has been an extremely busy time but for the Board it is wonderful to see so many positive changes which have come about as a result of our surveys and via feedback from staff and families; we are really grateful to you for making this happen. It is wonderful to see so many different activities being arranged and well attended, and such a pleasure for us to see the many pictures with smiling faces demonstrating the enjoyment. We hope everyone has noticed how great the gardens have been looking, with beautiful hanging baskets, well pruned roses and immaculate grass (thanks to Monty the robot mower)! In October we held our 32nd AGM, and it was positive to get such a glowing report from our auditors, so thank you to all those who attended. I’m now looking forward to the many festivities over the upcoming Christmas and New Year season.”
