Five Arrested, $60k Worth Of Drugs Seized In Chapleau

olice arrested five suspects and seized $60,000 worth of drugs during the search of a Chapleau home Wednesday. Members of the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service’s Intelligence Unit, with assistance from frontline NAPS officers from the Brunswick House detachment, and members of the OPP’s Chapleau detachment, executed a search warrant at a residential address in Chapleau, Ont., in the evening hours of Wednesday, Oct. 22. The warrant was obtained through the course of a NAPS Intelligence Unit investigation into drug trafficking activity in the Chapleau, Ont., and Brunswick House First Nation area. Police located five suspects inside the home. All were arrested without incident. During the search, police located and seized a quantity of suspected fentanyl, cocaine, a rifle, cash, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking The estimated street value of drugs seized totals $60,000, and cash seized totals more than $7,000.
