Another Successful Fall Fair By Melanie Mallek hat a weekend, what a show!! A big thank you to the artists, makers and creators for coming out and showcasing their craftsmanship to the community! Your passion for art is what keeps this annual event alive and thriving. Your beautiful creations bring people together!! The drove of fairgoers donning Christmas sweaters was ahh-mazing! Everywhere you looked.. Very festive, very community spirit, so nice to see! Thank you all for coming out! So many ugly Christmas sweaters under one roof + a ton of cute ones!! I really wish I would have taken the time to snap some pictures this year but regret that I didn’t. From setup to take down, it all happens so fast; I didn’t even get pictures of our own booth this year. If you have pictures of the weekend, please share them with us, to this post or to the fb page. 51 artisans this year, 19 of which travelled from near and far to our little town to set up a booth! A few last minute cancellations that we were able to quickly fill with new vendors from our ever growing wait list. Approx. 1000 people through the doors of the arena this weekend. Even a few hunters were spotted, travelling back to town to get a break Long Term from the rain & grab Forecast some treats! Thursday A big thank you High 4 to the Independent Order Low 1 of Oddfellows & the Friday New Horizon Rebekah’s High 3 for their work in the Low -3 kitchen and the canteen. Saturday

Your time is valuable and we appreciate every minute you all donate to help keep everyone fed and watered while contributing back to the community throughout the year. To the student volunteers who came out to lend a hand. You’re appreciated too! Thanks for showing up! Shout out to the Chapleau Recreation Centre staff for their assistance in making this event a success. Coordinating this event with Carole is always a breeze and we couldn’t have asked for a better go to guy for the weekend! Pleasure to meet you Justin, thanks for everything! Thank you to the Dominion Family Restaurant & La Bienvenue Restaurant for accommodating our breakfast coupons and a ton of appetites! Voting for ‘best booth’ got the fairgoers in for some beautiful door prizes donated by Mr. Josh Collins of Collins Home Hardware & Furniture. We are extremely grateful for Josh’s continuous generosity & support over the years. Six beautiful holiday prizes! The prizes were won by: Kiana Riopel - Holiday wreath 1 Mireille Lelièvre - Holiday wreath 2 Nancy Allaire - Light up inflatable reindeer Teodora Burns - 4’ lighted artificial Christmas tree Mary Martineau - Holiday Candle Centerpiece Sylvain Langelier - Snowman Additional draws were made for items donated by three of our generous artisans: Vicki St. Amand won herself some beautiful Big Button Scarf goodies donated by Lynn Clement (I have your bag Vicki) Wolfgang Burkholder won a lovely cozy
blanket donated by Rachel Presse Logan Pilon & Beya Baby won travel mugs donated by Annette Lajeunesse-Lacroix Every year, monetary prizes are awarded for the top 3 ‘best booth’s. Winners are chosen by the fairgoers who vote for their favourite booth via the ballot they receive on admission which subsequently enters them in for the door prizes.
