A school community committed to truth and reconciliation
A
s part of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day, Émilie Bouchard, Celena Farrell and Jean-Marc Robitaille, three Grade 12 students at École secondaire catholique Trillium ( C h a p l e a u ) o rg a n i z e d a n e d u c a t i o n a l celebration for the entire school community.
This project, prepared as part of their French class, allowed students to share and engage with their peers about the significance of these days, while developing their research, reading, writing, and oral communication skills. The activity highlighted, among other things, the richness of the Indigenous cultures in the region, the symbolism of the orange shirt, and the importance of listening, reflecting, and moving forward together in a spirit of reconciliation. The Coyotes would like to thank the students, alumni and community members who were invited as guests of honour: Adrienne Beaupré, Stéphanie Farrell,
Christina Bekintis, Amberly Quakegesic and Kennedy St-Denis. Their contribution greatly supported student awareness of Indigenous cultures and helped strengthen the ties between the school community and the Indigenous communities in the region. A heartfelt thank you as well to Ms. Ceilidh-Ann O'Hearn, a staff member at ÉSC Trillium, for her support in coordinating the event and her energy during the facilitation of this cultural celebration.
Une communauté scolaire engagée pour la vérité et la réconciliation

ans le cadre de la Journée de la vérité et de la réconciliation ainsi que de la Journée du chandail orange, Émilie Bouchard, Celena Farrell et Jean-Marc Robitaille, trois élèves de la 12ᵉ année à l'école secondaire catholique Trillium (Chapleau), ont organisé une célébration éducative pour l'ensemble de la communauté scolaire. Ce projet, préparé lors de leur cours de Français, a permis aux élèves de partager et Long Term d'échanger avec leurs Forecast pairs sur l'importance de Thursday ces journées, tout en High 13 développant leurs Low 4 habiletés en recherche, Friday lecture, écriture et High 12 communication orale. richesse des cultures autochtones de la région, le symbolisme du chandail orange ainsi que l'importance d'écouter, de réfléchir et d'avancer ensemble dans un esprit de réconciliation. Les Coyotes tiennent à remercier chaleureusement les élèves, les anciens et les membres de la communauté qui ont été invités d'honneur : Adrienne Beaupré, Stéphanie Farrell, Christina Bekintis, Amberly Quakegesic et Kennedy St-Denis. Leur contribution a grandement soutenu la sensibilisation des élèves aux cultures autochtones ainsi que renforcé les liens entre la communauté scolaire et les communautés autochtones de la région. Un grand merci également à Mme Ceilidh-Ann O'Hearn, membre du personnel de l'ÉSC Trillium, pour son appui à la coordination et son dynamisme lors de l'animation de cette célébration culturelle.
