Today, Ontario Minister of Energy and Mines Stephen Lecce joined Yukon Minister of Energy,MinesandResourcesTedLakingtosign a new partnership agreement that represents the first steps toward deploying small modular reactors (SMRs) in the Yukon. This agreement marks another critical step to strengthening Canada’s nuclear leadership and unlocking economicgrowthinNorthernandremoteregions ofthecountry Aspartofthisagreement,Ontario Power Generation and Yukon Energy will collaborate on the necessary groundwork to deploySMRstoYukon’sgrid.
Ontario is a global leader in nuclear power with the proven safe and successful operationofourthreenucleargeneratingstations and delivering large-scale refurbishments ontime and on-budget. The agreement leverages this expertise to strengthen Canada’s energy security and long-term sustainability forYukon, while showcasing Ontario’s role as a reliable partner and exporter of clean nuclear energy expertise.

A true outdoorsman, Robert had a lifelong passion for fishing, hunting, and trapping. As I'm reading Bill Pellow's and Louis' details of ice gang and pre ice work, I'm thinking what physically demanding work thatwasforyoungpeople.Isitanywonderthey and many others went on to further education and successful careers, less physically demanding. ForseveralyearsIraisedmytwosonsina rural setting where their summer jobs entailed washing milking cows, haying, cleaning barns etc. I believe it was during those gruelling summer jobs that they decided to pursue higher education. Thanks to my mother, Muriel E. The other day Hugh McGoldrick posted on Facebook that he had been talking with Lynn Hazenaboutthepossibilityofreunionin2011of the 1976 graduating class of Chapleau High School IimmediatelythoughtofastorythatLynn toldaboutmeinthenewspapermarkingthe75th anniversaryoftheschoolin1997
Lynnwroteinpartthatin1972,twograde niners who had never done anything wrong took the plunge. "When Mr. Morris momentarily left theclassroom,thewallclockcamedown.Asthey turned the time forward, it slipped from their hands and landed in several pieces on the floor. The two niners slinked to their seats just before Mr.Morriscamethroughthedoor.
