Chapelhill Church Family, We continue to be in awe of the amazing blessings that God has poured out upon and through Chapelhill Church. In this season of the church, Cindy and I have found ourselves constantly praising God that He would enable us to help advance His Kingdom. At the end of the gospel of Matthew, we find one of the most well known sermons of all time. It is the pinnacle of Jesus’ teaching, and it serves as the foundational purpose of the Church. The message, while short, gives a clear call with a firm direction – GO! We believe it is our calling – our mission – to see the Great Commission fulfilled. Kingdom Builders is our way of bringing the Good News of the gospel to all nations through a faithful community passionate about generosity. In this book, you will see the heart of Chapelhill Church. Our heart is Global because God’s heart is global. Our heart is for Local ministry because God’s heart is for our cities. And our heart is for the Next Generation because God’s heart is for those coming behind us. Through Kingdom Builders, we have the opportunity to participate in Kingdom advancement through over and above giving, and watch God do the miraculous as we partner with Christ-centered ministries all around the world. We are full of faith for all that God is going to do in the year to come, and continually humbled that He would use our church – all for Jesus to be glorified. PLAN

How do you make a commitment to being a Kingdom Builder?

First, make a plan to give. When you have plans and are diligent, it leads to plenty (Proverbs 21:5). God is excited when you have a plan! Whatever the amount is – have the plan in place, work the plan and be obedient to it. Start there.

VISION Next, ask God to give you a vision for what He could do through you with His help. This is beyond what you can do with your natural income. This requires you to take a step of faith. Additionally, Habakkuk 2:2 tells us to write that vision down and pray about it! God will supply all your needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Stepping out in faith pleases God. When you look at what He has in His hands, it goes to another level!

DREAM Lastly, what would be a dream amount you could give? Hold on to it. This number is only between you and God. Watch as each step of faith you take God moves you closer to that dream. God can do exceedingly abundantly more than we can ask for or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). Now, more than ever, make a plan to give and ask God for a vision in your generosity. Hold on to the dream of what God will do as you step out in faith!

Project Rescue Another Life… Beautifully Transformed She was just 14 years old when she was welcomed into one of the Project Rescue partner homes in Asia Pacific. Prim had been rescued from a terrible life of exploitation but she urgently needed hope and restoration. The young girl was so anxious and traumatized that she couldn’t go to school. She had to be encouraged daily to do simple tasks, like eat, change her clothes, and brush her teeth. Her fear was palpable. Even with 50 other girls around her, sharing in her suffering, she felt alone, afraid, and couldn’t sleep. Night after fitful night, Prim would be awakened by nightmares and tears. But over the course of several months – and faithful, patient care from Project Rescue staff, those around her began to see God work in Prim’s sorrow-filled life. Her confidence slowly grew. She became more comfortable

with her peers and she began attending school! Last September, she started a new school year and was elected class secretary. It is evident to all that God has changed her heart. Prim is a survivor, and the joy in her smile is contagious. She loves to dance and has joined her church dance team. Please pray for Prim’s continued healing. Thank you for making such a beautiful difference in her life through your giving to Kingdom Builders.

The Liberia Project Chapelhill has been supporting the Martha E. Ramsey Memorial Academy in Johnny Cole Town, Liberia for several years. Through the generosity of Kingdom Builders we have been able to assist with building a school building that houses 400 elementary and middle school aged students. We have an opportunity to partner with Martha E. Ramsey Memorial Academy again to build a dining hall and a kitchen that will serve healthy meals to the students of Johnny Cole Town. Additionally, under the leadership of Martha E. Ramsey Memorial Academy, they have planted a church in the Capital City of Monrovia, Liberia. Church services have been underway for over a year, and the congregation is growing steadily. The church is currently meeting in a sub-standard structure that has been assembled with the very limited resources the congregation could muster.

Through Kingdom Builders, we are trusting God to help build a solid roof, walls and floor for the church in Monrovia. We would also like to purchase instruments and basic audio equipment for the church. We can accomplish this with about $12,000. We can also complete the kitchen and dining hall in Johnny Cole Town for $38,000. We believe the completion of these two projects will greatly increase the effectiveness of the ministry of Martha E. Ramsey Memorial Academy and its ability to serve the people of Liberia. A GoTrip is planned to return to Liberia in November 2024.

Light for the Lost In November 1914, just a few months after the founding of the Assemblies of God, delegates gathered for the second General Council in Chicago, where they committed themselves to the “greatest evangelism the world has ever seen.” Historically, Pentecostals have felt a compelling personal biblical conviction to share Jesus with non-Christians.

Sam Cochran and the founding of Light for the Lost is one notable example of the Holy Spirit’s impact. On a Sunday evening in 1953, as Cochran prayed in the sanctuary of First Assembly of God in Santa Ana, California, he reported seeing a vision that forever changed the course of his life, and the eternity of millions of others. Cochran told of beholding a massive crowd of people from many countries reaching their hands upward, crying out desperately, “Give us the book!” Above them, slowly descending, came a hand from heaven holding a Bible. Just before the Word of God reached the first outstretched hands, a trap door opened below the people. Pleas for “the book” turned into screams of terror and agony as they fell into an inferno. Cochran knew the vision’s heartbreaking meaning even as he watched it unfold. For the desperate crowd, it was too late. The end came before they could hear about or read the gospel of Jesus Christ. For the rest of his life, Cochran spoke before men’s groups and congregations describing the screams and palpable smell of burning flesh, which he could not forget. After the vision ended, Cochran and several close friends met to discuss it. They felt the Holy Spirit telling them to begin raising funds for evangelism resources for missionaries to use overseas. In the first year, they raised $313. In the 70 years since, the ministry they launched became known as Light for the Lost, and more than $370 million has been invested to resource Assemblies of God missionaries for evangelism worldwide.

In 2023, Light for the Lost celebrated 70 years of evangelism partnership with missionaries through five platforms: print, audio, video, internet technologies, and apps. Our missionaries throughout the world look to LFTL for all kinds of evangelism resources, print and digital.

Sisters in Pink RESCUE… it’s the heartbeat of this children’s home. It usually starts with a simple phone call of need. In this case, it was a divine appointment. The husband of the children’s home manager was out doing field work in a village, hours away from the city, and came across a family looking to place a girl, Amrutha, whose mother had died. The family had taken in the little girl three months back, as the girl’s father had desperately asked for their help. Having two small ones of their own to look after, the family had been praying and seeking the Lord as to where Amrutha could be placed. That’s when they were told about Sisters in Pink. Amrutha’s father was a village laborer who’s wife passed away eight hours after giving birth to her at the young age of 22. The pain of losing his beloved drove him into depression and drinking. He gave Amrutha to his mother and sister to take care of, but they were too poor to care for her, leaving her malnourished and unhealthy. Seeing his daughter in this condition, he sought out his childhood friend, who brought Amrutha to Sisters in Pink and

helped her father find a new job. This family acted as a living testimony to Amrutha’s father of the love of God! In less than 24 hours of hearing about Amrutha, and making a prayerful decision, she came to Sisters in Pink and her new home. Imagine the surprise on all the girls’ faces when they got home from school and discovered a cute toddler waddling around the house. Shrieks of joy filled the hallways, and the giggles haven’t stopped. Amrutha’s life will certainly never be the same. Psalms 68:5-6 says, “To the fatherless he is a father. To the widow he is a champion friend. The lonely he makes part of a family.” Amrutha has come home! Each little life matters to the Heavenly Father. Though their stories may begin sad, the Father writes the next chapters, and it is one of being restored as His daughters. Thank you so much for your giving through Kingdom Builders. Business as Mission “How many times do you have to do this before you realize I’m telling you the truth?” That response earned Nick a smack across the face. In August 2022, he was kidnapped along with his brother in Christ, Andrew, and driven hours outside his hometown. Nick’s family had lost all hope that he would convert back to Islam, trying several times, with no success, to convince him to return to their faith. This time, their objective was not to persuade. This time their objective was to take his life. Nick and Andrew were dragged out onto the beach. Nicks family planned to leave the pair out in the middle of the ocean to die. As the two awaited their fate, a strange noise grew louder and louder. A buzzing surrounded their captors. They quickly realized that a swarm of bees was attacking the men. Taking advantage of the chaos, Nick and Andrew made a quick escape and found a way to call an Assemblies of God World Missions missionary who drove to their location and brought them home.

Nick has been kidnapped over 15 times and is just one of seven of the East African regions “band of brothers,” and at 31 he’s the oldest of the group. These seven men have all become believers within the last three years among a people group that is almost 100% Muslim. These seven mark the beginning of the indigenous church in their region, the first known Christians to have been born and raised there as Muslims. There are other Christians in the area, but they are generally not native to the region and have settled there to work in the tourism industry. Nick shares that these Christians can be wary of ministering to their Muslim neighbors. “I was 28 years old before somebody came and shared with me about who Jesus is.” Nick said, “It took someone coming from America to come and share the gospel with me. Can you imagine that?” In the center of town where the brothers live, foreigners and locals alike walk the narrow paths between buildings to purchase

various goods. Everywhere one looks, the clash between tourism and tradition is obvious. Tourism is vital to the region’s survival, but suspicion toward westerners and their influence remains. Live Dead is a ministry of AGWM that focuses on planting churches “among unreached people groups through multinational teams.” There’s been a Live Dead team in this region for nearly 10 years, but only recently have these men and women begun to see the hard-earned fruits of their labors. The team is allowed to be in the country because of a business that operates there. This business offers a valuable resource that has earned them the community’s respect. It also provides employment for several of the brothers. George, the operator of the business, believes it is strategically placed to impact the region for the Lord. The business is also looking to plant a second location elsewhere in the region. A building for it is ready but sitting empty, waiting for more people to join the team. “We believe and trust in Him because we are not here for ourselves,” George declares. Since surrendering his life to Jesus, George’s entire immediate family has come to Christ.

Grad Spotlights Lucas & Lilli Gray - Lucas graduated from SEU Chapelhill fall of 2017 with his Bachelor’s Degree in Ministerial Leadership and Lilli (Buchard) Gray graduated from SEU Chapelhill in Spring 2018 with her Associate’s Degree in Ministerial Leadership. Upon graduation, the two married and moved to Lima, Ohio to become worship pastors at Lima First Church. They believe that they exist to create moments where people can experience God. Their hearts are to see people grow in relationship with Jesus through worship.

Peyton Gross - Peyton Gross graduated from SEU Chapelhill Spring 2018 with his Bachelor’s Degree in Ministerial Leadership. Following graduation, he has served in a variety of ministerial roles. He served as the Worship Arts Pastor at Evangel Community in Snellville, GA for 2 years before becoming the Guest Experience Director for Elevation Church in Orlando, FL for 3 years. Recently, Peyton and his family have been involved in a new church plant in Nashville, TN called Way Church with Pastor Noah Herrin.

Europe Acceleration Initiative In 2024, Kingdom Builders has the exciting opportunity to partner with Larry Henderson and AGWM Europe in support of the Europe Acceleration Initiative. Through this unique project, a focus will be given to establish the church among the least reached and least engaged through seven strategic focuses: •  Education •  Business as Mission •  Refugees/Marginalized Peoples •  Recruiting/Mobilization •  Children’s Initiatives •  Parachurch Ministries •  Church Planting Investment into these good stewardship opportunities will directly result in the establishment of the church in Europe. The desire of this project is to establish indigenous churches that are missional, healthy, and compassionate.

In John 3:16, it says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only son.”

Simply put, the aim of “missions” is to see God’s glory and the gospel advancement among all nations and people on earth.
