Life-Changing Programs, Lasting Impact
“The adaptive programs at the Ventura YMCA have been life-changing for my 12-year-old autistic son. Not only for him but for my whole family. Having a place for my child to go where he can participate at his pace and level and not be judged by kids or parents has meant the world to us. He has participated in gymnastics, Music and Movement, baseball, basketball, cooking, individual swim lessons and will be in the upcoming kickball league.
Even on his worst day he is still accepted and loved. He gets to interact with kids of all ages and levels and the coaches. Having this socialization is so important for him. We will continue do any other adaptive programs that we can that the YMCA offers. The coaches are the best!”
