We Are Chamanade

Chaminade College Preparatory School, an independent, Catholic and Resident school, sponsored by the Society of Mary, is dedicated to cultivating the inherent gifts, skills and talents of young men in grades 6 through 12 so that they are prepared for success in college and life. This is accomplished through emphasis on: Formation in Faith, Providing an Integral, Quality Education, Education in Family Spirit, Educating for Service, Justice and Peace, and Educating for Adaptation and Change

www.ccphockey.com

Over my years in education, I have learned that many young student athletes learn as much about life by participating in athletic events as they do by engaging themselves in the classroom. A group like a hockey team provides an invaluable experience of teamwork, a deep understanding of the importance of collaboration and the value of supporting each of their teammates. Participating in a team sport teaches young people the enduring values of hard work, discipline, positive attitude, and determination. Additionally, through this participation, the student develops his innate gifts and talents. You are a valuable asset to today’s contest. As you cheer on the players and coaches, I am confident you will do so while modeling the respectful and positive behavior for which we hold our young men accountable. This positive environment not only creates a great experience for you but also enhances what is happening on the field. We have much to celebrate as we gather here today because the learning opportunities that this experiential education provides will have effects long into the future. Again, we are grateful that you are with us on this journey to prepare our young men to be the men the world needs them to be. God Bless!

Mission Statement To provide student athletes with the opportunity to participate in competitive sports against other High School teams as a means to enhance their High School experience and provide a vehicle for a well-rounded education through physical, social, mental and leadership development. CCP Hockey would like to help young individuals develop as athletes, leaders, and members of the community through a competitive hockey program that emphasizes excellence, commitment, discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Our goal is to provide every participant, whether a coach, player or parent, the opportunity to improve their knowledge of the game of hockey and experience the enjoyment the game provides as well as compete for a Championship every season. The development of successful teams and a quality hockey program, with a focus on the welfare of student athletes, is inherent to our mission. The Chaminade College Prep Ice Hockey Team is dedicated to the principle that the pursuit of excellence in athletics must be accomplished within the framework of academics, skill development, competition, community and family.
