Dear Patron of the Arts,
I really do think it is a good time to give Iowa a try. It is a perfect time to take a stroll into the theatre and allow yourself to step back into a simpler time when the biggest trouble there was in your town was a pool table. The Music Man reminds us of how wonderful it is to find joy in coming together as a community--- to build a boys band, create a female dance troupe, a male quartet, learn new dance steps, and fall in love:)
The journey isn’t always easy, but it sure can rejuvenate the spirit and even make miracles happen, like have children find their voice! I am so happy that we, the Chaminade Players are bringing this story to our community! We are a diverse group of individuals who come together to create stories on stage. Our hardworking active crew members stand side by side with our dedicated creative team and can look at the set, the props, the lights, the wardrobe, hear the sound and see their stamp on what they have accomplished. And I am so proud of each and every one of them. Our tremendous cast has been working hard to grow and build this story taking in every bit of direction. We wish our seniors a joyous journey and we thank them for being a part of the Players, may they continue to be creative and always find their way home.
We are so thankful for our extraordinary, mastered professionals who share their expertise with our students and for our wonderful Drama Mamas and Papas who take such good care of us during production week and beyond! We are blessed with amazing volunteers! And we not only have awesome student alumni working with us, we have incredible parent alumni volunteering with us! They come back to feed, sew, and cheer us on! It’s magical!:)
It has been such a joy adding our young guest artists to our Chaminade Players family this semester and our Instrumental Music friends to play with us. Theatre is transformative and life changing and we are blessed to do what we do. We thank everyone here at Chaminade for their support and we thank you, our audience for bringing that much needed final piece to all those weeks of rehearsal—your presence and your applause.
Enjoy the show! Shipoopi!
Yours in the Arts,
Yvette Lawrence Bishop Director of Theatre Program
Chaminade College Preparatory High School
